He directed films like 'Naalaiya Manithan,' 'Adhisaya Manithan,' 'Asuran,' 'Rajaali,' 'Kadavul,' 'Shiva' and 'Puratchikaran,' creating a unique path through a combination of new stories, scientific dreams, and social thoughts.

Velu Prabhakaran, who maintained his place in the film industry for over 40 years despite successive trials and criticisms, passed away today (July 18) at the age of 68 due to ill health.
His journey has been a complex yet influential artistic journey. His passing is seen as a great loss to Tamil cinema. Velu Prabhakaran's mortal remains will be kept at Valasaravakkam, Chennai, from Saturday evening, July 19th, to Sunday afternoon, July 20th, for public tributes.
Following his death, the entire film industry is in mourning. The last rites will be held on Sunday evening at the crematorium in Porur, attended only by close family and friends.
