Egypt, U.S. Reaffirm Coordination on Gaza, Regional Stability

Nada Mustafa Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, received a phone call on the evening of Sunday, June 1st, from Mr. Steve Witkoff, U.S. President's Special Envoy for Middle East. The call came as part of ongoing consultations and coordination between Egypt and the United States regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip and the broader Middle East region. The two sides discussed the joint efforts undertaken by Egypt, the United States, and Qatar to reach a deal that ensures a ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages and a number of detainees, and full access for humanitarian aid. During the call, Abdelatty emphasized the critical importance of ending the current war and the Israeli aggression on Gaza, as well as enabling unrestricted humanitarian access to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people. The conversation also stressed the need to achieve a lasting resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, one that meets the aspirations of the peoples of the region and reflects the vision of President Trump for achieving comprehensive peace in the Middle East. For his part, Mr. Witkoff expressed his country's deep appreciation for Egypt's pivotal role and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's leadership in the ongoing mediation efforts aimed at securing a ceasefire, facilitating the release of hostages, and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian assistance. The call further touched on the progress of indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran concerning the Iranian nuclear program. Abdelatty listened to the U.S. envoy's assessment of the talks and reaffirmed Egypt's support for the U.S.-Iranian negotiations. Egyptian, Turkish FMs Discuss Bilateral Ties, Regional Developments

Nada Mustafa Badr Abdelatty, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, and Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey held phone talks on Tuesday. The conversation was part of ongoing consultations to strengthen Egyptian-Turkish relations and exchange views on developments in the Middle East. Abdelatty praised the progress witnessed in bilateral relations between the two countries across various fields in recent months. He commended the increasing frequency of high-level visits, which have contributed significantly to expanding cooperation and elevating the level of relations. Abdelatty also expressed interest in continued collaboration to enhance economic and trade ties, as well as increase Turkish investments in Egypt. The two ministers discussed the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip amid continued Israeli aggression. Moreover, Abdelatty briefed his Turkish counterpart on Egypt's efforts, alongside Qatar and the United States, to secure a ceasefire, facilitate the release of hostages and detainees, and ensure the unimpeded entry of humanitarian, medical, and shelter aid into Gaza. They also reviewed the upcoming steps of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, which includes both Egypt and Turkey, in working with international actors to garner support for the Arab-Islamic plan for early recovery and the reconstruction of Gaza. Egyptian FM also informed Minister Fidan of preparations for the International Cairo Conference on Gaza Reconstruction, which will be held following a ceasefire agreement. Both ministers reaffirmed their categorical rejection of any forced displacement of Palestinians and emphasized the urgent need to reach a just and lasting political solution to the Palestinian cause through the two-state solution. They reiterated their support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The phone talks also included an exchange of views on developments in Libya. Abdelatty stressed Egypt's support for Libya's national institutions and reiterated Egypt's position on preserving Libya's unity and territorial integrity. Nada Mustafa Badr Abdelatty, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, held two separate phone calls with Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India, and Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan. During the conversations, Abdelatty welcomed the announcement made by India and Pakistan on May 10, 2025, regarding a ceasefire between the two countries. He expressed Egypt's full support for this significant step, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing dialogue over conflict. Moreover, Abdelatty praised the wise decision taken by both sides, which contributes to de-escalation, promotes calm, and supports security and stability in South Asia. He further stressed the importance of adhering to the ceasefire in order to build mutual trust between the two nations and to fulfill the aspirations of the Indian and Pakistani peoples for peace and development. In response, the Indian and Pakistani Foreign Ministers (FMs) expressed their appreciation for Egypt's supportive stance and its efforts to foster calm and stability in South Asia. FM Supports Lebanon's New Government, Reaffirms Commitment to Peace Agreement

Nada Mustafa Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, received a phone call on Friday from Lebanese Prime Minister (PM) Naufal Salam. During the phone call, Abdelatty once again congratulated Lebanese PM on the formation of the new Lebanese government, expressing his best wishes for its success in fulfilling the aspirations of the Lebanese people. Moreover, FM emphasized Egypt's full support for Lebanon, its government, and national institutions, stemming from Egypt's firm belief in the importance of national states and their institutions, and the need to empower and support them to carry out their roles, while stressing the necessity of respecting Lebanon's sovereignty. The conversation also covered the developments regarding the implementation of the ceasefire agreement. In this regard, FM reaffirmed Egypt's full support for the agreement's execution, including the complete and unconditional Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon, as well as the importance of adhering to United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 and halting all violations of Lebanese sovereignty in all forms. Furthermore, Abdelatty assured that Egypt will continue its communications with all concerned parties to ensure the agreement is fully implemented.
