Nagenthran slams minister's comment on Murugan meet
Madurai: BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran on Tuesday hit out at HR and CE minister P K Sekarbabu, saying his comment that action would be taken if any untoward incidents happen during the upcoming Murugan conference in Madurai, is highly disappointing and reflects his own mindset. "Sekarbabu is a devotional person but it is disappointing to see him make such comments suggesting untoward incidents may happen during the conference. It raises suspicion as to who really wants to create divisive incidents. Why does the minister harbour such bad thoughts," asked Nagenthran while speaking to reporters. He met party cadres in Tirunelveli, Virudhunagar and Madurai on Tuesday, and also took part in a consultative meeting at Melur for the Murugan conference on June 22. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan are among those likely to take part in the conference. On the Anna University sexual assault case, the BJP leader said, "We welcome the court decision. But, the question of 'Who is that sir' remains. This case was rushed and finished in 154 days when there are sexual assault cases pending in courts for years. Reality is that law and order in Tamil Nadu is out of the control of chief minister M K Stalin," he said. Nagenthran said his focus after taking over as state president was to meet party cadres in different districts and bring them together.

Nainar to undertake ‘yatra' to assembly with poll candidates
Madurai: BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran on Wednesday told reporters in Madurai that his journey as state president will be defined by a 'yatra' (march) to the state assembly with MLA candidates. He stated that the BJP, which came second in many constituencies, will clinch victory in 2026. "Just as how my predecessors took up 'Vel Yatra' and 'En Mann En Makkal Yatra', I will go on a march to the state assembly with MLA candidates. BJP candidates, in many constituencies, already came second in the previous assembly elections. This time, they will go a step further and achieve victory, no doubt," he said. Nagenthran was in Madurai on Wednesday to take part in the erection of 'muhurta kaal' pole at Amma Thidal near Vandiyur toll gate for the Murugan devotees conference to be organised in Madurai by Hindu Front on June 22. He said around 5 lakh people are expected to take part in the conference. "It is purely for devotees, in line with what was conducted by the DMK govt in Palani but on a better scale and with real devotees. There is no political motive," he added. Referring to Udhayanidhi Stalin's statement that DMK is 'not afraid of Modi or ED,' he said reality speaks otherwise. "From when they were in the Congress alliance in 2011, ED raids remain a source of fear for the DMK and deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. CM Stalin also made contradictory statements regarding attending Niti Aayog meeting in Delhi but later met PM Modi too. He should be asked what he spoke with the PM," added Nagenthran.

ED may find more details if it grills Udhayanidhi's friends: TN BJP president on investigation into Tasmac scam
COIMBATORE: The BJP has been speaking about the Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation into the Tasmac scam many times, but now, the Supreme Court has imposed an interim stay on the ED's investigation, said BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran on Tuesday. Speaking to reporters at the Coimbatore airport, Nagenthran said all parties must unite against the DMK government. 'The ED has said it will find out more details if it interrogates Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin's friends Ritheesh and Akash. No one knows where they are. Furthermore, Udhayanidhi said he is not afraid of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ED. During the 2011 election, when the ED was searching upstairs, the alliance negotiations were ongoing downstairs. We do not know how the talks ended that day, perhaps out of fear of ED searches,' Nagenthran said, adding, 'What are Ritheesh and Akash fearing that they had to go abroad?' When asked about the Rajya Sabha elections, Nagenthran said the party leadership will take a decision. Further, he said he will urge the finance minister to relax the rules for gold loans. Nagenthran accused the DMK regime of causing difficulties to people. 'There have been property tax hikes and electricity tariff hikes. Smuggling of drugs and various other illegal activities have taken place excessively under this regime. Law and order situation has deteriorated. We urge all parties to unite against the DMK,' Nagenthran said. To a question on caste name being suffixed after Periyar's name in the UPSC paper, he said, 'No matter who they are, there is no need that there should be a caste after the name.'

No national interest? Go to Pakistan: Tamil Nadu BJP chief
TIRUPPUR: People who are against national interest should leave India and go to Pakistan, BJP state unit president Nainar Nagenthran said on Friday. He was speaking at a national flag procession taken out by the BJP to celebrate the victory of Operation Sindoor. 'Some people in Tamil Nadu are criticising Operation Sindoor on social media. They say intelligence failure led to the terror attack on innocent tourists at Pahalgam and are worried more about the people of Pakistan, despite living in our country. Comments in support of Pakistan are being shared on social media by people in Tamil Nadu. Chief Minister MK Stalin should condemn this. But, when he fails to do so, we can only assume that he is acting in support of Pakistan,' Nagenthran said. The rally was inaugurated by Nagenthran and former party president K Annamalai. Party cadre, members of the public and schoolchildren participated in large numbers, holding the national flag.

Stalin should condemn those expressing ‘pro-Pakistan views', says Nainar Nagenthran
Tirupur: BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran and former BJP state president K Annamalai on Friday flagged off a rally in Tirupur to thank the Indian armed forces for their victory in Operation Sindoor. Speaking at the event, Nagenthran said chief minister M K Stalin should condemn the pro–Pakistan views expressed in social media from Tamil Nadu. "If he fails to condemn such messages, he would also be considered as pro–Pakistan,'' Nagenthran said. He said that everyone in the country was patriotic. "But there are a few in TN who are sympathetic towards Pakistan. Why can't those who support Pakistan leave India and go to that country?" he asked. He said Pakistan had launched the Pahalgam terrorist attack with the objective of sparking communal riots in India. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi taught Pakistan a fitting lesson, he said. Annamalai said that though India was for peace and brotherhood, Pakistan was bent upon spreading terrorism. He said that the Prime Minister had agreed for the ceasefire as a humanitarian gesture. "We are ready for a war. It is up to Pakistan to decide if they want peace or war," he said. About 2,000 BJP cadre as well as ex-servicemen participated in the rally from Tirupur Kumaran statue to the corporation office. Accompanied by music troupes, a replica of Brahmos missile was also taken out in the rally. At the culmination of the rally, floral tributes were paid to those defence personnel who lost their lives in Operation Sindoor.
