Northern Ont. police seize $25K in drugs and a handgun on Hwy. 17
A search of the vehicle uncovered 253 grams of suspected cocaine and 38 Percocet tablets worth around $25,000, as well as an overcapacity magazine for the handgun.
A 30-year-old from St. Catharines has been charged with several offences after police stopped a vehicle on Highway 17 late last month in Nairn-Hyman Township.
The street crime unit of the Ontario Provincial Police stopped the vehicle June 26 around 9:45 p.m., with help from the Manitoulin OPP.

The suspect has been charged with several weapons offences, including having a prohibited device, having a weapon for a dangerous purpose and two counts of having a firearm while prohibited, and two charges of drug trafficking.
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on July 10.
