Jahmai Mashack makes first start for Memphis in NBA Summer League

Former Tennessee men's basketball player Jahmai Mashack made his first professional start Tuesday in the Salt Lake City Summer League with the Grizzlies. Philadelphia defeated Memphis, 91-90, at Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mashack totaled 13 points, three steals, one rebound, one assist and one block in 24 minutes against the 76ers. He converted 4-of-9 field goal attempts, 3-of-4 three-point attempts and 2-of-2 free throw attempts. Mashack, a guard, was selected in the second round by Memphis with the No. 59 overall pick. He was the final pick of the 2025 NBA draft. The 6-foot-4, 202-pound guard played for the Vols from 2021-25. He appeared in 137 games, including 59 starts. Mashack was named as a 2025 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Award Finalist and earned 2025 SEC All-Defensive Team honors. He converted 2-of-4 field goal attempts and 1-of-2 free throw attempts. Mashack, a guard, was selected in the second round by Memphis with the No. 59 overall pick.
