The jathedar reiterated that previous decisions taken by the SGPC were in line with Sikh tenets, and scholars unanimously agreed that the resolutions remain valid.
During the meeting, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee resolutions adopted in 1934, 1940, 2003, 2015, and 2022 concerning films on religious topics were reviewed, and it was agreed that future decisions must align with these precedents.
A release issued by the Akal Takht secretariat stated that the scholars pointed out that current technological trends pose serious challenges to Sikh identity, traditions, principles, and philosophy. In this context, it is essential to preserve and promote traditional modes of religious outreach through oral traditions, Gurdwaras, and Sikh institutions.
He announced that a committee would soon be formed to prepare a draft policy after evaluating the suggestions and related aspects, and a formal framework would be created in collaboration with the SGPC.

Jathedar appeals for peace amid border tensions
Akal Takht officiating jathedar Giani Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj expressed concern over the tensions between India and Pakistan, stating that war is not a solution to any problem and that the message of peace, love, and brotherhood must be upheld. Expressing concern over the condition of families stranded at the Attari international border, he said, "Mothers are crying for their children, and children for their mothers." Wars, he said, have never solved any issues and have only brought devastation to humanity, animals, and the environment. Regarding the water dispute with Haryana, he said that Punjab holds the first right over its waters. He emphasized that this is not merely an issue of drinking water but a matter of preventing Punjab from turning barren. Water can only be given to Haryana if Punjab has a surplus, he said.
