21,361 petitions received in 55 Makkaludan Mudhalvar camps in Namakkal, says Minister
Adi Dravidar Welfare Minister M. Mathiventhan said that 21,361 petitions were received through the 55 special camps conducted on Tuesday under the Makkaludan Mudhalvar scheme.
The camps were held at Vagurampatti, Komarapalayam, Selur, Vadakaraiyathur, and Pudhupuliyampatti in the district on Tuesday. The Minister participated in the camps and received petitions from the public, and distributed welfare assistance worth ₹69 lakh to 213 beneficiaries.
Speaking in the camps, Mr. Mathiventhan said that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has implemented numerous welfare schemes for the people. 'The Chief Minister implemented the Makkaludan Mudhalvar scheme to change the conventional practice of people approaching government offices to submit their grievances, by having government officials reach out to the people. In Namakkal district, the camps are to be held in three phases and from February 21, 2025, to date, 55 camps have been conducted and 21,361 petitions have been received from the public. Through these camps, 44 services related to 15 government departments were provided to the people,' the Minister added.
Explaining the schemes implemented in Namakkal district under the DMK regime, Mr. Mathiventhan said that from 2021 to 2025, at Vagurampatti panchayat, 65 project works worth ₹2.69 crore, 199 project works worth ₹4.14 crore in Komarapalayam panchayat, 179 project works worth ₹6.70 crore in Selur panchayat, 314 project works worth ₹13.08 crore in Vadakaraiyathur and 41 scheme works worth ₹1.76 crore in Pudhupuliyampatti panchayat under various schemes were implemented.
In the camps, District Collector S. Uma, Namakkal MP V.S. Matheswaran, MLA P. Ramalingam, Namakkal Corporation Mayor D. Kalanithi and officials from concerned departments participated.
