PM Modi shares laughs, dreams with kids on Vande Bharat
Bengaluru, Aug 10 (UNI) For dozens of schoolchildren the journey on Vande Bharat train was special. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi stepped in and began speaking to them like an old friend, it turned into a memory they say will last a lifetime. From a packed schedule that included the inauguration of the Namma Metro Yellow Line and multiple railway projects, Prime Minister Modi took time out to sit with the children, share a few laughs and listen to their stories. "He cracked jokes, asked about our hobbies, and made us feel like we were his own family," said a beaming Jeshma, a student selected to travel on the train. The Prime Minister began each conversation with introductions. For one student, a state-level Taekwondo player, it was a chance to share her sporting journey — from Grade 6 training sessions in the railway colony to representing her state. "He asked me how I started and praised my dedication," she said, adding that she also told him about being a qualified guide. Another child told Modi she aspired to crack the UPSC and was also a singer. "He smiled and said, 'So you want a government job too,'" she recalled. A young dancer and sports enthusiast said her nervousness vanished when Modi asked her how she liked the Vande Bharat on her first ride. "I told him it was comfortable and clean. He told me to share my experience with my family." The conversations went beyond pleasantries. Several children said they were inspired by Modi's emphasis on Make in India and indigenous technology. One noted his "fearless but thoughtful decision-making" as something she wanted to emulate. "He listens before he decides — that's a quality I admire," she said. Earlier in the day the Prime Minister had taken a metro ride from RV Road (Ragigudda) to Konappana Agrahara, marking the launch of the Yellow Line. But for the children, the true highlight of the day was the chance to meet and talk to him without any rush. "It never felt like he was in a hurry. He spoke to almost everyone," said a student who plays cricket. "I didn't think I would get to speak to him, but when I did, it felt so special." As the train rolled on, the laughter and chatter inside its coaches carried a different energy — one born of inspiration, pride, and the joy of a rare personal connection with the country's leader. "We will never forget this day," one child said, her voice brimming with excitement. "It wasn't just a train ride — it was a journey we will carry in our hearts forever." UNI BDN RB

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah orders probe into Rahul Gandhi's ‘vote theft' allegations ahead of BBMP Polls
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has directed the state's Law Department to investigate allegations of vote rigging in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, following Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's explosive claims of 'choreographed' polls to favour the BJP. The probe, Siddaramaiah said, will be completed before the upcoming Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) elections. Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah. 'Legal action will be taken based on the recommendations,' he assured. The move comes a day after Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, alleged massive electoral malpractice in Karnataka's Mahadevapura constituency. At an August 7 press conference, Gandhi claimed that the BJP's Lok Sabha victory in the state was aided by 'vote theft' involving over 1,00,000 votes. Citing Congress's internal analysis, he said the party had expected to win 16 seats in Karnataka but secured only nine. Seven 'unexpected' defeats were examined, with Mahadevapura flagged as the most glaring case. 'The BJP's margin in the Lok Sabha seat was 32,707, but this one segment changed the entire result,' he alleged. Karnataka Minister G. Parameshwara also announced that the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) will file a formal complaint with the State Election Commission, while Rahul Gandhi will take the matter up with the Central Election Commission. 'There is a difference in the voter list, and the commission must accept this,' Parameshwara insisted, adding that the EC has sought documents on the allegations. (With PTI inputs)

As PM Modi visits Bengaluru, 5-year-old girl has a request: ‘Please fix traffic…'
Bengaluru is all decked out with Bharatiya Janata Party workers gathered at various locations along the route where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pass for the launch of several development projects, including the much-awaited Namma Metro Yellow Line. Amid the fervour and zeal in the southern state, a little girl's request to the Prime Minister has surfaced on the internet. Abhiroop Chatterjee, a resident of Bengaluru, shared the handwritten letter from his five-year-old daughter, which requests Modi to fix the traffic in the IT capital as she often gets late to her school. She also highlights the poor condition of the roads. "PM is visiting Bengaluru. My 5-year-old girl sees it as her chance to finally fix traffic, Chatterjee wrote along the letter on X. The letter is addressed to "Narendra Modi ji." The child writes about the traffic problem, saying: 'There is lots of traffic. We get late to school and office. The road is very bad. PLEASE HELP.' The letter is signed with Arya's name, age, location (Bengaluru), and the date (10-8-2025). There are also some small drawings or symbols near the signature, such as a heart, a flower, and some shapes. The young girl's request echoes the concerns of many, including corporate commuters, who are weary of enduring frustrating traffic gridlocks during their daily journeys. The post has garnered thousands of likes and numerous comments from social media users. Here are some of the reactions: A user wrote: 'The most difficult part is explaining to children why things are so bad in India. Sometimes I wonder if I have failed as a parent.' Another wrote: 'Hope is a good thing. But keeping hope for good governance is like holding sand in your hand. Thanks to BJP and Congress.' A third user said: 'This is so cute.' A fourth user said: 'Absolutely marvelous, an innocent way to communicate with the PM… but is there anyone listening? I don't think so.'
