Police clash with large group of partygoers in South Los Angeles
Los Angeles Police Department officers clashed with a large group of partygoers outside a warehouse in South L.A. overnight. An LAPD spokesperson confirmed to KTLA that units were dispatched to 33rd and Main streets just after 2 a.m. on a shooting call, and upon arriving, the officers located a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition. Video from the scene and information relayed by LAPD indicates there was a large crowd in the area at the time, possibly for a warehouse party. Many of the people in the crowd were not cooperative with authorities when asked for details of the incident, LAPD added. Preliminary information indicating some sort of scuffle or altercation led to the shooting was not confirmed, although footage obtained by KTLA shows officers trying to forcefully hold people away from an area that had been blocked off by crime scene tape. No information on any suspect or suspects was released, and it is not known if anyone was arrested. Nancy Fontan contributed to this report. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Yet another Fairfax District business targeted by thieves driving vehicle into storefront
A business in Los Angeles' Fairfax District was hit by thieves who drove a vehicle through the storefront and stole merchandise less than 24 hours after KTLA reported on a string of burglaries employing the same technique in the area. Information from Los Angeles Police Department Officer Madison indicates that units were dispatched to the area of Melrose and Martel avenues around 3:50 a.m. Tuesday on reports of a truck crashing into a building. After appearing to deliberately crash the black 4-door truck into the storefront, two suspects entered and took an unknown amount of merchandise, Madison said. They fled the area on foot before officers arrived at the scene. A burglary report was taken, Officer Madison added. No further details were released. The store targeted on Tuesday morning appears to be Relevance, which sells a 'curated selection of highly desired luxury goods,' its Instagram page states. It had its grand opening a month ago, according to social media. Nancy Fontan contributed to this report. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
