Naini industrial area entrepreneurs to benefit from new door to door garbage collection service
Prayagraj: The entrepreneurs of Naini Industrial Area will no longer have to worry about garbage disposal. Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) will now collect garbage from the factories of Naini Industrial Area through door-to-door garbage collection. UPSIDA will not charge entrepreneurs a higher fee but will only charge a maintenance fee of Rs 1 per square metre per year. Until now, the entrepreneurs themselves disposed of the waste from the factories. To solve the problems of entrepreneurs and provide them with maximum facilities, a Samadhan Diwas and Samvad programme was organised with the entrepreneurs of Prayagraj division in Naini Industrial Area on May 2 under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh govt's industrial development minister, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi. The entrepreneurs demanded improvements in electricity, water, cleanliness and other basic facilities in Prayagraj industrial area. Minister Nandi assured the entrepreneurs of these improvements. UPSIDA previously charged Rs 20 per square metre per year from the entrepreneurs of Naini industrial area as a maintenance fee, which did not include garbage disposal. The entrepreneurs had to remove garbage from their enterprises themselves, incurring additional costs. To address this issue, UPSIDA has now decided to dispose of the garbage by conducting door-to-door garbage collection from the factories established in Naini industrial area. The pre-determined maintenance fee of Rs 20 has been increased by just one rupee, making the maintenance fee Rs 21. Now, the entrepreneurs have resolved the problem of garbage disposal at a fee of just one rupee per square metre per year. President of Eastern Chamber of Commerce, Vinay Kumar Tandon, said that the entrepreneurs will benefit from this facility provided by UPSIDA.

Emphasising the state's rise as an IT powerhouse, the minister said that the state now has over 400 STPI (Software Technology Park of India)-registered IT and ITES companies. A lot has gone into building Brand UP;make the most of it, Udyami Mitras told
Lucknow: Expressing unhappiness over non fulfilment of a handful of commitments made during previously held investor summits, minister for infrastructure and industrial development, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi , on Monday told Udyami Mitras and heads of district industries centres to pull up their socks and chase the goal with utmost commitment. "Every intent or query is an opportunity that the state must chase to fulfil the one trillion-dollar economy goal. Pendency of work speaks for a gap in the work culture that needs to be solved on a case-by-case basis," the minister said while speaking at an official programme organised by Invest UP to set annual targets for 2025-26 for Udyami Mitras and GIM-DICs. A monthly review of their work was also conducted on the occasion, besides reviewing past performance, setting strategic goals, and drawing an action plan to further boost state investments. The event also saw the launch of the 'Udyami Mitra' book. Nandi advised the UMs and DIC heads to shun the 'old world's sarkari' mindset and embrace the presently prevalent culture of pursuing each client till the last bit. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trending in in 2025: Local network access control [Click Here] Esseps Learn More Undo "There were days when one used to book a scooter or a gas cylinder and then wait for it for months… but today a walk-in purchase is the order of the day. In fact, companies get after the life of people even at the slightest hint of a customer's inclination," he said. The minister reminded the district-level officials that they were the bridge between the state govt and investors and must ensure that they add positively to the state's image. Principal secretary Alok Kumar said, "Every investor is an opportunity for the state, and the fact that our loss will be some other state's gain cannot be undermined even for a minute." He further said that a lot has gone into building UP's credibility, and the maximum must be made from this opportunity. "Many factors have gone into building Brand UP , which is turning eyeballs now. While the most should be made from this opportunity, one negative experience retards the growth significantly," he said. Chief secretary Manoj Kumar Singh detailed the state's remarkable industrial progress over the past eight years. Highlighting the increasing use of digital platforms, he stressed the need to eliminate delays in approvals, enhance ease of doing business (EODB), and streamline investment processes. Singh emphasised that accelerating the online approval process and making procedures more transparent would boost investor confidence. Addressing the critical issue of industrial land availability, he suggested that the CEO of Invest UP form a dedicated team to identify and reuse land from closed mills, factories, and sugar mills for new industrial projects. Invest UP CEO Vijay Kiran Anand outlined the review meeting's agenda and initiated the target-setting process for the upcoming year. Emphasising a structured and strategic approach, he said that coordination is crucial for attracting investment. "Teamwork is not just about working together but about growing together, learning from each other, and evolving together," he added. In the meeting, CM's secretary Surya Pal Gangwar delivered a presentation on strengthening the district-level investment promotion mechanism. Additional CEO of Invest UP, Prathamesh Kumar, highlighted importance of seamless coordination among all stakeholders, Udyami Mitras, and District Industries Centres involved in the investment process.

UP aims to triple exports to Rs 5 trn in five years with help of new policy
Uttar Pradesh is working on a policy to promote exports and triple the outbound shipment from the state to over Rs 5 lakh crore in the next five years by tapping new markets and products. To achieve the target, the state government is working on a new export policy for 2025-30 which is expected to be approved soon. The thrust of the new policy would be to increase exports three times by 2030 from Rs 1.7 lakh crore in 2023-24 through host of measures including capital subsidy and sops for exporters, UP Minister for Industrial Development and Export Promotion Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi said. "We have extensively studied export policies of various governments across the country and have incorporated best practices in the draft policy. Our aim is to increase UP's contribution in the country's overall exports substantially and the proposed policy will be a step in that direction," he said. The new policy also seeks to provide sops like capital subsidy to investors for developing export infrastructure and proposes setting up a one-stop digital information hub which may provide all relevant information to exporters. For example, he said, the proposed policy seeks to provide up to Rs 10 crore as capital subsidy to investors to build export infrastructure. A dedicated export promotion fund will be set up, which will be used for promoting Brand UP at global conferences and will also provide aid of up to Rs 5 lakh to exporters towards payment of yearly premium under Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India (ECGC), he said. It also plans to increase aid to each exporting unit to Rs 25 lakh every year as against Rs 16 lakh in the current policy. The new policy is expected to incentivise exporters by up to Rs 30 lakh every year towards transport of goods to gateway port. During 2023-24, UP's share in the country's total export was 4.71 per cent. Exports from Uttar Pradesh stood at Rs 1.70 lakh crore.
