NTR Film Awards honors cinema and real-life heroes
In a star-studded ceremony filled with emotion and grandeur, the Kalavedika NTR Film Awards 2024 were held to mark the birth anniversary of legendary actor and statesman Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR). Organised by Kalavedika with support from the Telangana Department of Language and Culture, the event paid homage to NTR's cinematic legacy while also celebrating national pride. The evening stood out with the introduction of the NTR Desh Rakshak Awards, which honoured Indian Armed Forces personnel for their bravery in Operation Sindhur. Decorated officers like Major General N.S. Rao, Major Bharat, Group Captain P.R. Prasad, and Captain T.N. Saikumar were felicitated, highlighting the event's deeper message of patriotism. In the cinema segment, Lifetime Achievement Awards were given to veteran producers N.R. Anuradha and Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao. A commemorative edition titled Nata Sarvabhoumudu was also launched. Chief Guest Nandamuri Mohan Krishna shared heartfelt memories of his father, celebrating his unparalleled journey from actor to political icon. Other notable personalities like T. Prasanna Kumar, Madala Ravi, and Srinivasa Rao praised NTR's dedication to Telugu cinema and his societal impact. The awards recognized talent across 35+ categories, including Best Actor Vishwadev Rachakonda and Best Actress Roopa Koduvayur. The event also featured captivating dance and musical performances, alongside an inspiring documentary highlighting Kalavedika's 52-year journey. Overall, the 2024 NTR Film Awards not only honored cinematic excellence but also served as a powerful tribute to courage, culture, and legacy.

Cultural programme enthrals audience
Vijayawada: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of former chief minister and legendary actor Dr Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, a cultural programme was organised on Wednesday evening at Sri Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College here. A highlight of the evening was a patriotic dance performance to the song 'Oo… Thyagamurthulaaraa,' choreographed by Guru Hemanth Kumar. The stirring performance received warm appreciation from the audience. The event also featured a comedy playlet titled 'Baboy… Guttivankay,' written by Veerla Varaprasad and directed by Venigala Bhaskar. The play featured a lively cast, including the director Venigala Bhaskar as Rajababu, B Rupasri as Ramaprabha, DRK Murthy as Thangarajan, Bayana Srinivasa Rao as Tafadia, Dontala Prakash as Sardar Samarsingh, and Suryadevara Jagannadharao as Musti Mudanastam. Each artiste tried to do justice to their character. The event was organised by Tapaswi Cultural Arts, Vijayawada, and witnessed enthusiastic participation and appreciation from the art lovers.

Mini Mahanadu in Fremont celebrates NTR's legacy
Amaravati: The Mini Mahanadu-2025, held in Fremont, California, to mark the 102nd birth anniversary of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder and legendary figure Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, was hailed as a major success, drawing wide participation and heartfelt tributes. Spearheaded by NRI TDP leader Srikant Doddapaneni, the event took place on Wednesday evening at the Bheemavaram Ruchulu Banquet Hall in Fremont's Bay Area. Attendees described the gathering as a one-of-a-kind occasion, reflecting deep admiration for NTR's enduring impact on Telugu society and politics. A host of prominent TDP leaders and public representatives from both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana took part virtually, including Members of Parliament, government ministers, MLAs, and senior party officials. TDP leader Jayaram Kumati expressed his satisfaction with the strong attendance and unity displayed by party members abroad. He noted that under the leadership of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu—who has carried forward the vision of NTR—the Telugu community has risen to prominent positions in the global IT sector. Speakers at the event pledged their continued support for the development of 'Navya Andhra' (New Andhra), reaffirming their commitment to the guidance of both Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh. NTR's birth anniversary celebrated at Anantapur collectorate
Anantapur: Asper the directives of the State Government, the birth anniversary celebrations of the former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh and Padma Shri awardee, the late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, were held on Wednesday at the Revenue Bhavan in the Anantapur Collectorate. District Collector Dr Vinod Kumar V participated in the event, along with Joint Collector Shiv Narayan Sharma, DRO A Malola, District Tourism Officer Jayakumar Babu, and various district-level officials from multiple departments. Several public representatives also took part in paying tributes to the iconic leader.

NTR's 102nd birth anniversary celebrations held on grand scale in Andhra Pradesh
VIJAYAWADA/ONGOLE: The 102nd birth anniversary of former Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) was observed across Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, with tributes paid at government offices, police departments, and legal forums. At the State Secretariat, Chief Secretary K Vijayanand offered floral tributes to NTR, describing him as a role model both as an actor and a leader who introduced several welfare schemes for the poor. Senior officials including Special Chief Secretary (Services) SS Rawat, Principal Secretary (GAD) Mukesh Kumar Meena, and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister M Ravichandra also participated. At the Assembly, Secretary General Prasanna Kumar Suryadevara garlanded NTR's portrait and recalled his commitment to uplifting the poor. At the NTR Veterinary Super Specialty Hospital in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh Animal Husbandry Department Director T Damodar Naidu paid tributes, recalling NTR's pioneering efforts in agriculture and animal husbandry. He highlighted NTR's establishment of the first district-level veterinary polyclinic in Gudivada in 1983. He also noted NTR's support for veterinarians and his promotion of indigenous livestock breeds through films. Stakeholders were urged to uphold NTR's 'Padi-Panta' vision for livestock farmers. In Ongole, Prakasam District Collector A Thameem Ansariya and SP AR Damodar paid floral tributes to NTR statue at Addanki bus stand. 'Making Andhra Pradesh a top global State is the true tribute to NTR,' the Collector said, urging everyone to follow his ideals. Joint Collector R Gopala Krishna, PDCC Bank Chairman Dr Kamepalli Sitaramaiah, DRO B China Obulesu, Ongole RDO Lakshmi Prasanna, and other officials attended. SP Damodar, along with other officers, honoured NTR at the District Police Office and Addanki junction.
