Pampa's literary works hailed
Mysuru: Kannada writer
Narahalli Balasubramany
on Monday described how literary and poetic works penned by
Adikavi Pampa
contributed significantly to the growth of Kannada. He spoke after inaugurating a workshop on the review of the poetic works of Adikavi Pampa, organised jointly by
Karnataka State Open University
and JSS College for Women, in the city.
He said Adikavi Pampa reflected the humanity and richness of
Kannada literature
in his works. He showcased the mythological characters of Mahabharatha, one of the great epics, in his own way, which set the base for the modern development of Karnataka State.
KSOU vice-chancellor Sharanappa Halase also highlighted the contributions of Adikavi Pampa for his efforts to spread universal brotherhood. District unit president of Sharana Sahitya Parishat M G Sadanandaiah, head of the department of Kannada studies, Mahajana College, Thimmegowda, Morabada Mallikarjuna, and G B Harish were present.
