Reader photo of the week: A summer sunset on the Swedish coast

Every week, The Local invites readers to submit their pictures to our photo competition, to bring our audience together from all parts of Sweden. This week's winner is Narangerel Davaasuren, from Mongolia, who snapped this picture of a sunset in Oskarshamn, Småland. Advertisement Davaasuren moved to Sweden in 2019 with her Danish husband. She explained that the photo was taken during a drive to the Lofoten Islands in Norway, when the couple followed the east coast so her husband could fish along the way. "I saw it was a very nice sunset, with vibrant colours — this red and blue… and then the harbour," she told The Local, recalling what had caught her eye in the port town. Now based in Helsingborg, Davaasuren works in environmental mapping and says she loves Swedish summers. "It's great in terms of climate and weather. Of course it can be very rainy sometimes, but we like it. We also have a dog, so we're always outdoors." Advertisement Would you like to be featured in The Local's photo of the week series?
