Earlier that evening, Ravi Kumar went to Tumakuru for work and met the minor. The elder brother of the minor worked in a lodge. The minor told Ravi Kumar that he would accompany him while riding back home, 35km away.
"When both started, the minor rode the motorbike with Ravi as a pillion. On reaching Gubbi, the minor, who was riding at high speed, lost control and rammed into a mud heap outside the compound of a private college on the left side of the road.
The minor sustained injuries to his eyes, waist, and head. Ravi escaped with minor wounds. The minor was first treated at Gubbi govt hospital and was later shifted to a private hospital in Tumakuru.
Owing to the seriousness of his eye injuries, the minor was shifted to Minto Hospital in Bengaluru. There too, doctors advised the minor's family to immediately shift the boy to a superspeciality hospital as he required to undergo complicated surgery," the police charge sheet read.
