'I wore Oodie's new pyjamas for a fortnight and I'm desperate to buy more'
"They're genuinely astonishing and I'm already eyeing up a second pair." The cold winter months might be over, but you never can tell in Scotland. For all that we've just had the warmest April on record in the UK and we are looking ahead to summer, that doesn't mean there aren't cold nights to come. When we get a bit chilly in the evenings, there's nothing quite like sticking on a toasty pair of pyjamas and relaxing on the couch before heading to bed. But what about when you get there? Big, fluffy PJs can make things hot and sweaty in the bedroom - and not in a good way. So you're left either feeling the chill with a lighter pair, or waking up in the morning drenched. But that tricky dilemma may not be an issue for much longer, thanks to Oodie. The loungewear brand became a huge name after lockdown, when their oversized fluffy hooded blankets were a staple for keeping warm in households across the country. The Aussie brand has diversified over the years and has recently launched a line of pyjamas, some to ensure you stay nice and warm and others to keep you cool. Alongside this, they currently have a competition running to try and win a free pair and an introductory 20 per cent off deal for those buying two items. Self-confessed Oodie superfan Narin Flanders was straight in there to pick up both cooling and warming sets, with one being "the real star of the show". She was so impressed that she is "already plotting to buy more". Writing for our sister title The Mirror, Narin said: "Having worn them every night over a couple of weeks and seen how well they wash along the way I think they have the potential to be one of my favourite items in Oodie's entire range. "Coinciding perfectly with UK weather hitting that troublesome point in spring where you never know whether you're going to be kicking the covers off as it's too warm or arguing with your other half about needing to put a quick heating boost on to take the edge off the chill of the room, Oodie's newest launch offers both heating and cooling options that aim to regulate your body temperature while you sleep. "There are five different prints available, with each coming in a range of styles as well as hot and cold versions. Buyers can pick a new version of Oodie's ever-popular pale blue cloud print, alongside a Love Heart inspired candy, a bright tie dye, a confetti print on a black background and a purple check. Each style comes in short-sleeve pyjama tops, long-sleeve pyjama tops, shorts and cuffed or wide leg trousers, making for the ultimate mix and match loungewear. "But it's not just down to whether garments have long or short arms and legs that helps shoppers regulate their temperatures. You wouldn't imagine pyjamas could ever be particularly high-tech but this is no-pseudo scientific mumbo-jumbo, Oodie has put a lot of thought into the fabrics they use for these new styles and how they work with the human body to make sure the people wearing them feel comfortable." Oodie's new cooling range is made from a modal blend fibre produced by spinning beech trees and is known to be one of the softest fabrics on earth. This makes the lightweight pyjamas 21 per cent more breathable than regular cotton PJs. The warming versions are crafted from a brushed bamboo blend that is said to offer more than double the heat power of normal pyjamas. Odour-resistant and 85 per cent better than cotton at keeping sweat away, these are designed to stop you waking up wet and sticky. Narin said: "Thanks to the changeable weather, I have tried both over the last few weeks, having opted for the purple check version of the range, both in long-sleeve and long-leg versions." She said that the large bubble branding of 'Oodie Sleep Club' across the front "isn't subtle" and wouldn't have been her design choice - though the colour and style is a bit of her. Narin was also delighted to be able to go for wide-legged trousers, as she finds cuffed ankles "too constricting" while sleeping. Narin continued: "The cooling PJs are perfect for anyone who wants the comfort of Oodie's sleep tees but with a slightly more flattering shape. I'm intrigued to see whether they are more cooling than the brand's previous bamboo option - I'm looking forward to the UK weather improving so I can fully test it. Fashion deal of the week Ahead of the summer season, Urban Outfitters has just knocked £20 off a popular dress - and it's perfect for weddings. The high street retailer's Light Before Dark Bex Printed Midi Slip Dress has rave reviews from shoppers who say it is "flattering in all the right ways". Usually retailing at £62, shoppers can bag it ahead of the warm spell for just £42. The midi-length dress boasts a few "romantic" details that make it perfect for wearing to fancy functions you have planned. This includes the all-over rose print and delicate lace detailing that both add a touch of femininity. With its slip-style silhouette, lightweight material and shoulder straps, it is the ultimate breathable and breezy layer for the summer season. A classy v-neckline, cut-out back detail, side zip fastening and rear button fastenings complete the design. Designed in a baby pink colourway, the Printed Midi Slip Dress will suit pretty much all skin tones and shades. It's also still available in quite a few sizes, with XXS to XL available on the Urban Outfitters website. The dress averages a 4.3 rating on the Urban Outfitters website, and one glowing review read: " This dress is so gorgeous on! Definitely hugs your figure soooo nicely." A second delighted shopper wrote in their review: "Fits really well, perfect for summer wedding." "But for me, the real star of the show is the warming PJs. I get really cold in bed at times but find I can overheat in synthetic, super-fluffy pyjamas. These pyjamas don't look like you've made yourself an outfit from plush children's toys, but while the fabric is thin, it is incredibly soft and cosy without being bulky. Even my husband, who never notices such things, commented on how soft the pyjamas felt when I brushed past him." Narin labelled the warming PJs "genuinely astonishing" and admitted that, despite the weather getting better she's "already eyeing up a second pair of trousers". She is considering a different print to match with other PJs she currently owns, adding: "The fact the tops, trousers and shorts are all bought separately makes this easily done, with prices starting from £35 per item." Narin concluded: "While this does feel pricey for a pair of PJs, as any bargain hunters know, Oodie is always good for a deal or discount so it's always worth keeping an eye on their sales. Currently they're offering 20 per cent off when shoppers buy two pieces of the temperature regulating range, meaning effectively shoppers can save up to £15.60 on the total price of a pair. Elsewhere, their launch competition is also still live for shoppers who want to try and win a pair of the pyjamas."
