Hindu By Name, Muslim By Faith, In Love With Bollywood Actor But Married Pakistani Cricketer
The destiny of the exceptionally beautiful actress Reena Roy changed dramatically with a role that many other actresses had turned down. During the 1970s and 80s, she rose to stardom overnight with Nagin (1976) and soon became counted among the leading actresses in the film industry. Reena Roy delivered unforgettable performances in hit films such as Jaani Dushman (1979), Aasha (1980), Arpan (1983), Naseeb (1981), and Sanam Teri Kasam (1982). At the peak of her career, she married Pakistani cricketer Mohsin Khan and had a daughter named Jannat. Following her marriage, Reena Roy stepped away from acting, much to the disappointment of her fans. Her personal life frequently made headlines. Few are aware that her real name was Saira Ali. Reena Roy's father, Sadiq Ali, was Muslim, while her mother, Sharda Rai, was Hindu. Saira was the third of four siblings. Her father appeared in minor roles in films, including Bawre Nain (1950). After her parents divorced during her childhood, Saira and her siblings distanced themselves from their father. Subsequently, her mother changed her name to Rupa Roy. When she entered the film industry, she chose to adopt a new name, and director BR Ishara renamed her Reena Roy. In the 1970s, Reena Roy became the highest-paid actress. She also had a romantic relationship with her co-star Shatrughan Sinha, whom she met on the set of Kalicharan (1976). Despite Shatrughan Sinha being 11 years her senior, they grew close, much to her mother's displeasure. In 1981, Shatrughan Sinha married Poonam Sinha. Realising she would never become Shatrughan Sinha's wife, Reena Roy reportedly distanced herself from the actor.

It becomes easier." 'Many times, your attire and the environment in which you perform. The vehicle in which the director ordered me sit. The scene within my house, the books Zia read, and the overall setting transported me there; I didn't have to do much. The lines on the paper were telling me," said Mukesh. 'Rishi Kapoor refused to do workshops during '102 Not Out', Amitabh Bachchan agreed to do hence he did,' recalls director Umesh Shukla talking about the bond between the two actors
Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor were seen together in iconic movies like 'Amar Akbar Anthony', 'Kabhi Kabhie', 'Naseeb'. They had done '102 Not Out' together where they played father and son. In a recent interview, director Umesh Shukla has recalled some fun anecdotes which depict the bonding between the two actors. Umesh is known for directing movies like 'OMG: Oh My God', '102 Not Out' among others. During a podcast appearance, Shukla shared some behind-the-scenes stories and highlighted the duo's unwavering dedication to their craft. Calling the film an 'experimental' project, Umesh spoke about the unique dynamic of directing two veterans with contrasting approaches to acting. 'It was an experimental film we made with two yesteryear superstars who have different acting patterns – Rishiji believed in spontaneity, while Big B is a method actor,' he explained in an interview with 'Friday Talkies'. 'He is so perfect that you can never tell that he has done his homework; there is a lot to learn from them, especially if they came together. They had different levels of discipline, too.' One particular moment that stood out to the filmmaker was when Rishi Kapoor initially declined to participate in a preparatory workshop for the film. However, his stance changed as soon as he learned that Amitabh Bachchan was on board. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Las Cuadras: Ecuatorianos: generen un segundo ingreso con Amazon CFD. He said, 'We usually get the script and we act on it,' but when I told him that Mr Bachchan had agreed to do the workshop, he also agreed,' Umesh recalled. 'Chintuji had immense respect for Bachchan sahab. They have done so many films together, and the relationship I have seen between them was brilliant.' Umesh also shared an anecdote that reflected the actors' deep sense of discipline. Since both were portraying Gujarati characters, Shukla insisted that they not wear slippers on set to reflect cultural authenticity. 'I had said that when we act on the set, actors will not wear slippers because Gujaratis don't wear slippers at home,' he said. 'I used to keep the set very clean so that they wouldn't have any inconvenience. I used to tell both of them that they could wear slippers in close-up shots, but they were so disciplined that they wouldn't.'

Kerala University faculty member's promotion: Syndicate defends body's decision
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A section of Syndicate members of Kerala University has defended the varsity body's decision to recommend promotion of assistant professor S Naseeb, also a pro-Left Syndicate member, to the post of associate professor. The decision was annulled by Governor Rajendra Arlekar in his capacity as Chancellor on Monday on the grounds that it was against UGC regulations. In a joint statement, 14 Syndicate members, most of them Left-affiliated, said the university has implemented the UGC regulation that valid contract service can also be considered for promotion. They said it was on directives of the Kerala High Court that Naseeb was permitted to apply for promotion. Besides, the Syndicate had also sought legal opinion on the matter before taking a decision. 'The Syndicate had only decided to inform the High Court that Naseeb's application for promotion can be considered based on earlier court orders on the matter and also on the basis of the report of the academic committee,' the Syndicate members said. However, the Vice-Chancellor unilaterally referred the matter to the Chancellor (governor), they alleged. In his order, the governor said it was found that Naseeb had included his tenure of more than a year as lecturer on temporary basis to his overall service period while applying for promotion. However, he was drawing remuneration lesser than a regularly appointed faculty at that time. According to the governor, this constituted a violation of UGC regulations. The governor reminded the Syndicate that it is bound to follow the norms fixed by the UGC and no power is vested with it to exempt or exclude such norms. Arlekar said he was annulling the Syndicate's decision by invoking the powers vested in him under Section 7(3) of the Kerala University Act.
