Crowds held back from lunging into police van after Liverpool parade crash
Police officers had to hold back crowds from lunging into a police van after a car hit crowds in Liverpool, injuring dozens. Four people are still 'very, very ill in hospital' after the crash in Water Street, the city's metro mayor said this morning. Ambulance service boss Mr Kitchin said that one of those seriously hurt was a child. At a press conference last night, he said that 27 people were taken to hospital by ambulance, 20 people were treated for minor injuries at the scene but did not need further treatment, while others made their own way to hospital. 'Sadly, four of the injured were children who were enjoying the day with their friends and their families,' he said. Merseyside Police said the incident was not being treated as terrorism. More Trending Footage circulating online appeared to show people in the crowd attempting to get close to the driver of the car before he was detained, with one managing to open the driver's car door. Videos then appeared to show the driver close the car door before suddenly speeding up and veering into pedestrians on both sides of the crowded street. The clips posted on social media then showed people from the crowds attempt to chase the driver – with some kicking the vehicle and smashing the back window. Officers quickly surrounded the car as witnesses attempted to stop the driver, who was eventually arrested. Atomic Kitten Natasha Hamilton's skin cancer diagnosis as she calls for UK-wide ban
Natasha Hamilton is calling for change following her own health scare. Atomic Kitten star Natasha Hamilton has opened up about being diagnosed with skin cancer last year. The singer revealed she experienced a "massive wake-up call" after spotting worrying symptoms following a holiday abroad. Natasha, 42, had a Basal-cell carcinoma removed and believes the skin cancer could have stemmed from her use of sunbeds in the 90s. She first spotted an itchy red mole after being away, which immediately left her concerned. "I actually had skin cancer last year," she explained as reported by the Manchester Evening News. "I had a Basal-cell carcinoma removed from my back, and it was a massive wake-up call for me. It was like, 'Oh.'" She continued, when discussing her health on Scott McGlynn's Celebrity Skin Talk: "I have burnt my back so much over the years, and I used sunbeds when I was younger, you know, back in the 90s, it was like everyone used a sunbed before you went on your night out on a Saturday, and the repercussions of that is now I have to be super vigilant in the sun, like I need to have my high factors on... "I can't be burning. I have to check my skin religiously for changes in like moles and freckles. "And, you know, there have been things since then that have come up, and I've had to go and have a look, you know, the microscope on and keeping an eye on a few things. "So, like a massive wake-up call, and I'm just a big advocate now - get your SPF on! Protect your skin!" The singer, who is now cancer free, says the difficult experience led her to the realisation that she's "not invincible". She said: "I'm fine, honestly. It was found, it was cut away and, yeah, we move on. But it was a, kind of, 'Oh, I'm not invincible moment.' "These things do happen to you sometimes, and you've just got to look after yourself." Natasha explains how she now has concerns over people who use sunbeds, particularly young girls and boys, who are often influenced by others to encourage a habit that can have huge risks. She's now calling on sunbeds to be banned across the UK. She said: "Even though it's 18 or over, you're still a kid. You still don't understand the consequences. So, yeah, I would call for them to be banned, but that's probably not a popular opinion - but it's mine!" In the UK, approximately 156,000 new cases of non-melanoma skin cancer are diagnosed each year. Additionally, around 17,500 cases of melanoma, a more serious type of skin cancer, are diagnosed annually. Across the UK 1 in 4 men and 1 in 5 women will develop a form of skin cancer at least once in their lifetime

Bikini-clad Natasha Hamilton, 42, says she had to learn to 'accept' her body again after the birth of her fifth child: 'I felt like a stranger in my own skin'
Natasha Hamilton opened up about her struggles with body confidence since the birth of her fifth child in a candid social media post. The Atomic Kitten star, 42, welcomed her daughter Kitty with husband Charles Gay in August 2023. She is also mum to Josh, 22, Harry, 20, Alfie, 14, and Ella, 10, from previous relationships. Taking to Instagram on Monday, the pop star showed off her figure in a green bikini as she posed with a cocktail in her hand during a trip to Ibiza. Opening up about self acceptance, she penned: 'If you've followed me for a while, your kids are probably grown up now… so you might not remember that wild transition from having a baby to trying to feel like yourself again. 'Honestly? I've felt like I've been in a dark hole for years. Lost, exhausted, and searching for the woman I used to be. Taking to Instagram, the pop star showed opened up about her struggles with self love and acceptance 'This year forced me to slow down and ask myself what I really want. And the answer was simple: to be happy. But when you're a stress-head, a worrier, and a recovering control freak, happiness can feel just out of reach. 'Therapy helps. So does talking honestly about the tough bits. 'After my fifth baby, my body was worn out. An emergency op after Kitty's birth shook me to my core. I smiled through it all, but I didn't feel like me. I didn't feel strong or sexy. I felt like a stranger in my own skin.' She continued: 'Shooting 'Edge of Us' should've felt empowering, but I was swollen, self-conscious, and trying too hard to fake confidence. It broke something in me and started a slow journey back to wholeness. 'It's not about body shape. It's about belonging. About acceptance. 'At my husband's event in Ibiza, surrounded by bikini babes half my age, I kept my cover-up on the whole time. 'And you know what? That's okay. I wasn't quite ready then. But I'm getting there.' 'Every day, I practice loving who I am. Not just Mama Bear. But Hot Mama too,' Natasha added. Over the years Natasha has been fairly transparent over what she has had done to her face, admitting to Botox, lip filler and laser treatment. In a pictured she shared on Instagram earlier this year, the star's changed appearance caught the attention from her fans as some admitted they couldn't even recognise her. According to cosmetic expert Dr Ross Perry of skin clinics chain Cosmedics, Natasha appears to have undergone multiple different treatments - some which she hasn't admitted too. Dr Perry said: 'It looks as though Natasha has had dermal fillers to her cheeks and lip areas to create the more fuller effect that we can see in the latest images. 'It also looks like she potentially has had what's called a lip lift, where the upper part of the lip area is lifted up by removing a small amount of skin under the nose. 'Potentially some rhinoplasty too where the bridge of the nose has been trimmed, as well as the tip of the nose, and possibly some eyelid surgery to help remove some of the eyelid heaviness. 'There is also the use of eyebrow tattooing and most likely Botox as well, to create a smooth complexion.' It comes after Natasha reflected on her personal life in a rare interview and said her past love splits have led to the 'sickest, darkest feelings she's ever felt in her life'. But she said there is something incredible about 'learning from her bad decisions' and learning about how to fend for herself. Appearing on My Dirty Laundry podcast last June, she said: 'We're a blended family and sometimes I feel like people can't fathom how you can make something work that from the outside looking in, that looks different or chaotic. 'They just they can't comprehend what they don't know, but I'm sat here with five incredible children and my life has continued and flourished and got better, despite the traumas that I've been through in my personal life. 'Did I ever want any of that? Of course I didn't! God, you must be mad! Like, to ever wish any of that upon you - but I can't live in the past. 'I'm never going say I wish that didn't happen. I'm not going to wish my life away. Everything has made me the woman who I am today. 'I'm probably more accepting than most people are because I have been through a lot. I do not judge someone because of their circumstance. Absolutely not. 'I judge people how they treat me. You know, how you show respect to people, like they're the important things.'
