UAE weather: Maximum temperature 48°C today; dust, fog alerts issued
UAE weather on Friday, August 15 will be dusty and partly cloudy at times. The National Center of Meterology of the country sent out an alert, alerting residents to be aware of dusty conditions between 8am and 5pm. The met department also said there is a probability of some convective cloud Eastward by afternoon, and becoming cloudy by night over Eastern and Southern areas, with an increase in temperatures. Extreme temperatures continue in the country, with the mercury rising to 48°C in internal areas. Temperatures in Dubai will range from 34°C to 44°C, while that of Abu Dhabi will remain between 33°C and 47°C. Sharjah will see a high of 45°C and a low of 33°C. The highest temperature recorded over the country on Thursday was 48.5°C in Al Jazeera B.G (Al Dhafra Region) at 3:30pm. The NCM also warned of foggy conditions ion Friday morning, urging residents to exercise caution while stepping out. There will be light to moderate winds, freshening at times, causing blowing dust and sand, reducing horizontal visibility especially Eastward and Northward. The sea will be moderate and might become rough at times in the offshore of the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in Oman Sea.

Watch: Rain in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain; yellow alert issued
As the sweltering summer continues in UAE, parts of the country got some relief on Thursday. Proving the met department's predictions correct, it rained in some areas, giving residents a welcome break from the harsh sun. Showers were witnessed in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain on Thursday afternoon. The National Center of Meterology sent out an yellow alert, urging residents to be careful if they are outdoors. The Abu Dhabi Police too sent out an alert, urging drivers to exercise caution due to rainy weather conditions. They reminded motorists to adhere to the variable speed limits displayed on signs and electronic guidance boards to ensure safety while driving. Watch: Parts of UAE see heavy rainfall, hail, bringing respite from heat
Some parts of the UAE experienced much-awaited rainfall on Wednesday, July 16, bringing respite from the ongoing summer heat. Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman witnessed heavy to moderate showers. Heavy rain was witnessed in parts of Ras Al Khaimah, alongwith a bit of hail, UAE's National Center of Meterology reported. RAK's Wadi Al Khor and Wadi El Ejeili received heavy showers alongwith hail, according to the NCM. Moderate rainfall was reported over Munay in Ras Al Khaimah. Wadi Al Tuwa and Showkah too received light rain. Wadi El Helo in Sharjah and Khor Fakkan road towards Shees experienced light to moderate showers on Wednesday afternoon. Heavy showers were reported in parts of Ajman, too. Rain chasers in the UAE shared videos of rain and hail from different in parts of the country, bringing hope that the other parts might get rain soon. One of the videos showed them collecting hailstones in Wadi El Ejeili.
