Canadian ambassador discusses municipal election readiness in Libya
The Head of Libya's National High Electoral Commission, Imad Al-Sayeh, met on Wednesday with Canadian Ambassador Isabelle Savard to discuss preparations for the second phase of municipal elections scheduled for later this year.
The meeting, held at the Commission's headquarters, focused on assessing the technical and logistical readiness to conduct elections in line with international standards and timelines.
Ambassador Savard praised the professionalism and organization of the electoral process so far and reiterated Canada's support for Libya's democratic path, emphasizing the importance of continued partnership with the Commission.
Separately, Libya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Protocol Director Taher Hussein also met with Ambassador Savard to mark the conclusion of her diplomatic mission in the country.
