Shop local at farmers markets across Panama City

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – Each and every weekend across Panama City dozens of local vendors offer up their products to residents at various farmers markets. Every Saturday, a market is held at McKenzie Park from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and on Sundays, another is held in the Sweet Bay community from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Roughly 100 vendors take part across the two markets selling everything from meats, vegetables, candy, jewelry, and much more. All of the businesses participating in these markets are local, allowing shoppers to connect with the people selling the products and learn more about what they're buying. Pick up a new hobby during National Hobby Month 'It's a shopping experience you're not going to get anywhere else because you actually get to interact with the folks that are behind the products,' said Panama City Farmers Market Manager Bill Davenport. 'You can ask questions. If you're not sure you're not just buying a product and taking the label at face value, you're actually able to have that correspondence and build that connection and relationship with the producer or maker.' Throughout the year pop-up markets are held across Bay County. The next one will be on Saturday, March 15th at Aaron Bessant Park in Panama City Beach.
