However, their unique move proved potentially risky as they concealed it within an A4 sheet before placing it under a stack of laundry. It remained in the pile of clothes in their bedroom until it could be safely delivered to the National Lottery.

Man spends £600 on National Lottery scratchcards and is left gobsmacked by what he won

Man spends £600 on National Lottery scratchcards and is left gobsmacked by what he won TikTok user Jax has shared a video of himself scratching 120 of the National Lottery's Millionaire Maker scratchcards - and was shocked by the outcome A man who bought 120 National Lottery Millionaire Maker Scratchcards has revealed his winnings (Image:) A man has shared his experience after spending a staggering £600 on National Lottery Millionaire Maker scratchcards in pursuit of the dreamy £1 million top prize. With odds standing at 1 in 3.03 for various cash awards, TikTok user Jax set off on an endeavour to outwit the odds, teasingly annotating his video: "Can't believe how much I won." Kicking off his scratch card marathon, he said: "I'm about to scratch 120 Millionaire Maker scratchcards - this could take a while. Let's hope the first one is a winner... the answer to that is no, let's hope there aren't too many more like this." ‌ Speeding through to the "halfway point" of his adventure, Jax showed the glaring disparity between his hefty "loser pile" and considerably tinier "winner pile". For money-saving tips, sign up to our Money newsletter here ‌ Having shelled out £1,100 on similar ventures over the previous two months, Jax pressed on with his scratch card quest, only to reveal a disappointing outcome, the Mirror has reported. He said: "So I spent £600 on these Scratchcards - and the return was £360. That's a loss of £240. "Stay away from the Scratchcards - you think you're going to win, but you're just not. Please don't gamble." Article continues below One TikTok viewer shared: "They are terrible things. I used to spend at least a tenner per day buying them. Haven't bought one since 1st January. Been putting £10 per day in a tin. Christmas sorted." Someone else said: "I used to work in a Spar shop when I was in uni. "Watching people waste hundreds on lottery taught me all I needed to know. Never bought a lottery ticket in my life." ‌ Another person accepted the grim reality saying: "I've never seen anyone make a profit on a video like this ever, poor man's tax." Another viewer added: "Same as any gambling, the house always wins." But, striking a different note, one UK resident reminisced about a positive outcome: "A family friend won £250,000 a few years back, with his last 4 quid he bought two £2 ones." Article continues below But Jax's wins in March, however, resulted in a £420 return from £600 worth of scratchcards, whilst in April he clawed back £340 after spending £500. Overall, that's £1,700 spent with winnings of £1,120 - an overall loss of £580.
