Three men face homicide charges, preliminary hearing begins for Nov. beating death
A preliminary hearing was set to begin in Erie County Court Thursday afternoon for three men charged with the beating death of another man in the City of Erie. Ledomperignon Eady, 31, was fatally assaulted on East 26th Street last November. Prosecutors called them the lead actors in connection with Eady's death. In a criminal complaint, detectives stated the defendants punched, stomped and kicked Eady repeatedly. April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and local travel agencies are encouraging drivers to commit to putting their full attention on the road once they're behind the wheel. According to AAA, distracted driving is becoming one of the most dangerous things about being on the roadways, especially as technology continues to evolve. Cell phones obviously, but radios, GPS, even eating behind the wheel,' said Jim Garrity, director of public affairs for AAA East Central. 'I've seen people doing their hair and make-up, strangely enough brushing their teeth, and also distractions can come in the form of other people who are traveling alongside with you.' Where to drop off unwanted medications on National Prescription Drug Take-back Day
Many people don't give them a second thought, but leftover medications in your bathroom cabinets could be harmful or even deadly. While it's important not to leave medications hanging around, it's not as simple as throwing them out or down the toilet, where they can end up in the water supply. Construction coming along at new PSP Summit Twp. barracks National Prescription Drug Take-back Day is Saturday, April 26. There are several sites in Erie County where you can take your unwanted over-the-counter and prescription medications for safe disposal. Fuller Hose Company to host annual Recruitment Open House The Millcreek Township Municipal Building is one such site. Drop-offs can be made from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. 'No questions asked. Just have them packaged up, bring them in the containers they were initially prescribed in, or if not, bring them in a ziplock baggie. You just bring them in. We have boxes in the lobby. You just drop them in the box and leave. Like I said, no questions asked,' said Lt. Timothy Ferrick, with the Millcreek Township Police Department.
