Connor Stalions fires back at TCU coach's sign-stealing narrative

Brett McMurphy has just started his new job at On3 and felt like he had a bit of a juicy story, even if it's one that's already been told. All the way back in October 2023, a TCU contingent told ESPN that the Horned Frogs were aware of Michigan football's Connor Stalions and his sign-stealing ways, and that they had devised a clever plan which made the Wolverines' machinations backfire on them. Now, years removed, TCU head coach Sonny Dykes is adding gasoline to the flames by telling McMurphy and On3 at Big 12 media days about the countermeasures that the Horned Frogs took against the Wolverines in that 2022 Fiesta Bowl. 'We had some intel that (the sign stealing) was going on,' Dykes told On3 from Big 12 media days. 'Look everybody does it to an extent, but we had some intel that it was kind of next level there.'Dykes' solution? 'We changed some signs, we left some the same,' Dykes said. 'We found out early enough (before the game) where we could change a lot of our signals and then we had some dummy signals and some things where we checked a dummy signal to a signal that we knew they knew. 'We got some favorable matchups because of that and, yeah, there was some big plays in the game. No one who was a part of that Michigan football team had been able to fight back on the allegations publicly. But now, as he waits for the NCAA to levy its punishment for the advanced scouting scandal, Stalions isn't letting this one go by idly. Stalions took to X (formerly Twitter) to rebut McMurphy's story on Dykes, responding to the article post in great, great detail about why this account from the Horned Frogs coach is erroneous. To be 'tipped off' that your next opponent is good at stealing signals is like saying you were tipped off that you had an upcoming game. To save everybody's time so we can move on from the same recycled story from Coach Dykes, I'll provide some more details and we can wrap this up: We lost because we turned the ball over & had a poor game tackling. And TCU played well. Congratulations. The same way we won the Natty (when I was not with the program) because we blocked well, tackled well, and took care of the rock. Welcome to the game of football. Since people are so intrigued by signals…The entire Air Raid communication system is the offensive coordinator signaling to the QB, then the QB signaling to the Receivers. USC, TCU, etc. It's all the same. They're all the same signals too. And TCU kept everything from the coordinator to QB the same, but had dummy signals & some new signals from the QB to Receivers. But that didn't matter because I'm watching the coach and seeing what they changed in real time. Similar to Ohio State 'changing their signals.' They changed their route concepts & some run concepts — not their formations & pass protection signals, which is all I cared about. To say anyone 'fooled' me is admitting that you have no idea how signal deciphering & protecting works. No team has ever 'changed' signals — meaning they don't recycle the same signal to have a different meaning because that would confuse the 18-year olds on the field more than it would confuse me. They simply create new signals. And if I see a new signal, I'm not guessing what it means. There were games where I relayed information 0% of the time, all the way through 99% of the time. No one is forcing you to signal. Rutgers & Minnesota huddled (didn't signal). Nebraska didn't signal until the 2nd quarter when they were down 14-0. Even we, Michigan, didn't signal on offense. If you don't want teams to steal your signals, then don't signal. Any team that signals on offense is trying to force the defense to signal so they can steal it. There's really no other advantage unless you're trying to prevent a sub, or it's 2-minute. If that weren't true, you'd see the entire NFL go up tempo to find advantages. But you don't. And it's still going on today in college with coach comms. Notice how teams still signal — it's because they're going up tempo. The continuous attempt to correlate signals to any wins & losses at Michigan is funny. There were 7 games in my time at Michigan where I knew almost every signal the whole game: 2021 MSU, 2022 MSU, 2022 PSU, 2022 OSU, 2022 TCU, 2021 Georgia, and 2021 Wisconsin. We lost 3 of those games because we didn't tackle well, and Georgia was historically good. We won the four other games because we dominated the line of scrimmage & tackled well. Blocking, ball security, tackling, run fits & coverage tools. That's football. This is not rocket science. That is true -- it wasn't so much that TCU took great advantage of Michigan being in the wrong place throughout the game. The Wolverines struggled throughout the entire College Football Playoff semifinal with the fundamentals, and ultimately found themselves making mistake after mistake -- from J.J. McCarthy's two interceptions, to a fumble at the goal line, to running the Philly special on a fourth down. Then, when TCU had the ball, Michigan struggled to finish tackles or whiffed entirely. It wasn't a case of catching the Wolverines off guard; it was a case of Michigan not being able to get out of its own way. Even still, the game came down to the maize and blue's final possession. Of course, narratives will persist, regardless, especially since Stalions didn't start going on the record until Netflix's 'Sign Stealer' was released in August 2024. He's since made a trio of podcast appearances and is becoming more and more of a social media presence.

Thai K-pop idol Natty opens up on identity and ambition as Kiss of Life returns with ‘224'

Girl group to thank fans with special encore gigs in Seoul next month Natty of Kiss of Life, one of the most prominent Thai idols in the K-pop scene today, said she hopes to be a source of inspiration for aspiring artists in her home country and beyond. 'As a Thai artist in Korea, this means a lot to me,' said Natty during a media showcase for her group's new EP '224' held in Seoul on Monday. 'Just like the Thai artists who came before me, I want to become a positive influence on people in Thailand and international trainees who dream of becoming K-pop idols. That's why I'm working hard to grow as an artist.' Thailand has long served as a key gateway for Southeast Asian talent entering K-pop, dating back to Nichkhun of 2PM, who debuted in 2008. Since then, artists like BamBam of GOT7, Ten of NCT and Minnie of I-dle have followed suit — though none have reached the global popularity of Blackpink's Lisa. K-pop is also massively popular in Thailand, where it has become one of the mainstream cultural genres. T-pop, or Thai pop, has also drawn significantly from K-pop in its visuals, choreography and production style. Natty pointed out that the two genres, nevertheless, have differences, especially in their sound. 'What makes T-pop unique, I think, is the use of traditional Thai instruments. That's the charm that really sets T-pop apart,' she said. A different kind of summer: Kiss of Life drops '224' Kiss of Life's fourth EP '224' marks a shift from the group's previous hit 'Sticky,' presenting a completely different flavor of summer music. The new title track 'Lips Hips Kiss' captures the intense and sensual emotions of a magnetic attraction, wrapped in early 2000s R&B and hip-hop vibes. Its sleek melody and bold lyrics highlight the group's energy. 'Compared to the refreshing vibe of 'Sticky,' this song brings out a stickier, hotter feeling,' Natty said. 'I hope people enjoy this different side of us.' Belle said the group faced a pleasant dilemma in choosing the lead single. 'All our members are capable of handling a wide range of genres, so we had so many good options,' she said. 'It was a happy kind of struggle deciding which one to go with.' 'We wanted to surprise people with a summer song that no one expected,' added Julie. 'It's a new challenge, but we chose this track because we're confident in our skills and in the genre.' Following the release of '224,' Kiss of Life is gearing up for an encore concert to wrap up their first world tour. The group began their tour in October in Seoul and traveled through North America, Europe and Asia, finishing in Osaka in May. Now, they are set to take the stage again at Seoul's Jangchung Arena on July 19 and 20. 'Our first world tour was a huge milestone, especially just one year into our debut,' Belle said. 'It was a precious and meaningful experience, and we knew we had to prepare an encore performance to return the love we received from our fans, the Kissys," Belle continued, referring to Kiss of Life's fandom.

'World's hairiest girl' finds love again after split - and she now looks VERY different

A woman once known as the 'world's hairiest girl' has debuted a new lover seven years after marrying the 'love of her life'. Supatra 'Natty' Sausuphan, now 25, from the Thailand capital Bangkok, recently shared that her and her new partner - who are in a civil partnership - had celebrated seven 'happy' months together, despite publicly revealing another man as her husband in 2018. Supatra suffers from an extremely rare genetic condition called Ambras Syndrome, also known as Werewolf Syndrome, a form of hypertrichosis which causes excessive body-hair growth. The 2010 Guinness World Record holder for 'hairiest teenager' is prone to growing thick hair all over her face, ears, arms, legs and back. However the ordeal seems to be a myth of the past as she now regularly shaves her body and appears to have been hair free - save the lustrous mane on her head - for the past seven years. A series of posts on her Facebook page reveal she's been in a loving relationship with someone since September 2024. A loved up image of the couple shared on April 5 contained the English caption 'Happy Anniversary 7 months' along with a red heart emoji. Their romance was palpable as Supatra was pictured lifting the person up in the air while staring lovingly into their eyes. Plenty of other photos on her page show the couple kissing, hugged up and spending time together at various places such as parks and social events. Videos also show them frolicking on the beach and hanging out by waves, while one post shows them celebrating the crossover into the new year in December 2024. Though it's unknown why Supatra has split from her husband, a series of cryptic posts seem to be quite telling of the broken marriage. Alongside images and clips showing her new partner, Supatra penned statements such as: 'as free as the ocean', 'every moment is a fresh beginning' and perhaps the most telling comment of all: 'it's never to late to start again'. Back in 2018, a then-17-year-old Supatra happily flaunted a man she called her 'husband' on her social media account. It was thought that she had found happiness with her unnamed husband after she posted: 'You're not just my first love, you're the love of my life'. But from 2024 onwards, it became clear that things had changed as she revealed a completely new lover. In 2010 Supatra officially held the Guinness World Record for the 'hairiest teenager'. The couple's romance is palpable as Supatra was pictured lifting the person up in the air while staring lovingly into their eyes An excerpt shared to the publication's Facebook account in 2022 revealed that Supatra said she felt her condition made her 'special'. 'I don't feel any different to anyone else, and I've got lots of friends at school' she told Guinness World Records TV show 'Lo Show Dei Record' in Italy. 'Being hairy makes me special... this the happiest day of my life!' However she also spoke on the hardship she suffered at the hands of the condition. 'There were a few people who used to tease me and call me monkey face but they don't do it any more' said Supatra. 'I'm very used to this condition. I can't feel the hair as it has always been like this. I don't feel anything. 'It does sometimes make it difficult to see when it gets long. I hope I will be cured one day'. Supatra is one of a few dozen known sufferers of Ambras Syndrome to be documented since the Middle Ages. It was previously reported that laser treatment failed to completely stop the hair growth, and so she took to shaving her body, her father told local media. Before the disease was understood, sufferers were branded 'werewolves', and to this day some are shunned by their communities. But while Supatra revealed that her condition had sometimes made her the focus of bullies at school, she said her family and friends have always had her back.

'Unlike other K-pop concerts': Small venue means Kiss of Life fans get intimate performance from girl group , Entertainment News

K-pop girl group Kiss of Life certainly lived up to their name at their first concert in Singapore on April 26. The buzz of excitement was hard to miss; inside and outside Capitol Theatre, there were snaking queues to enter the concert hall and of Kissys (their fans) taking pictures of themselves and their photocards. Fervent screams for Julie, Belle, Natty and Haneul echoed through the concert hall every time the girls appeared on the dual screens before the show started, reaching a high when the concert kicked off proper with a flashy entrance for Get Loud. Apart from their hit songs such as Igloo, Sticky and Midas Touch, other highlights of the concert would have to be the girls' solos – especially maknae Haneul's wholesome and energetic performance of Play Love Games. In a ment after their solos, Haneul, who turns 20 next month, said, "Usually I walk beside and through the Kissys, but this time I was right in front of you guys. Seeing our Kissys up close, I also find our Kissys so pretty, so chio." The smaller concert venue proved to be a huge advantage for Kissys, as the girls sashayed down the aisles flanking the standing pen back and forth during No One But Us, serving mega fanservice. Fans could see them up close and Natty even took some of their phones to snap photos and videos of herself and the crowd.
