Employee charged with assault of 5 children at daycare east of Edmonton
A 21-year-old Edmonton woman has been charged after five children were assaulted at a Sherwood Park daycare. Mounties received a complaint of one assault at Emerald Park Daycare on Pembina Road on April 3. An investigation led to the discovery of the other victims. The children involved were between five and eight years old, according to police. None of the children suffered serious injuries or required medical attention. Navam Sharma, an employee of the daycare, has been charged with five counts of assault. She has been released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on July 9. Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to contact Strathcona County RCMP at 780-467-7741. A representative for the daycare told CTV News Edmonton that Sharma only worked at the facility for two weeks, but did not provide any further information.

A woman has been charged after police received a complaint about alleged assault at a daycare in Sherwood Park, east of Edmonton. The complaint about the Emerald Park Daycare was made in April.
