Emanuel Navarrete vs. Charly Suarez Credit: Top Rank It's fight night, and this is the boxing event you want to follow on Saturday, May 10. Live at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California, WBO junior lightweight champion Emanuel 'Vaquero' Navarrete (39-2-1, 32 KO) will defend his title against undefeated Filipino fighter Charly Suarez (18-0, 10 KO). The fight will serve as the main event for an ESPN card packed with Mexican contenders and up-and-comers looking to make a mark in their respective divisions. I'll be updating the results of the card as fights conclude. Keep refreshing the page, as the most recent update will appear below the 'LATEST UPDATE' line. • Emanuel Navarrete 130 lbs. vs. Charly Suarez 129.9 lbs (Navarrete's WBO Junior Lightweight World Title - 12 Rounds) Referee: Edward Collantes Judges: Lou Moret, Pat Russell and Fernando Villarreal • Raymond Muratalla 134.4 lbs vs. Zaur Abdulalev 134.6 lbs (Vacant Interim IBF Lightweight World Title — 12 Rounds) Referee: Thomas Taylor Judges: Dennis O'Connell, David Sutherland and Steve Weisfeld • Sammy Contreras 138.9 lbs vs. Dyllon Cervantes Alvarado 139.6 lbs (Junior Welterweight — 4 Rounds) • Andres Cortes 131.7 lbs vs. Salvador Jimenez 131.9 lbs (Junior Lightweight — 10 Rounds) • Giovani Santillan 147.2 lbs vs. Angel Beltran 146.6 lbs (Welterweight — 10 Rounds) • Perla Bazaldua 114.4 lbs vs. Mona Ward 114.1 lbs (Junior Bantamweight — 4 Rounds) • Alan Garcia 136.7 lbs vs. Cristian Medina 136.7 lbs (Lightweight — 8 Rounds) • Sebastian Hernandez 122 lbs vs. Azat Hovhannisyan 122.7 lbs (Junior Featherweight — 10 Rounds) NOTE: The Albert Gonzalez-Ivan Guardado Jr. fight was canceled after Guardado withdrew due to his issues with his weight cut. Navarrete is one of the more underrated champions in the sport. While he has something of a cult following because of his hard-charging, power-punching style, he doesn't get mentioned on many pound-for-pound lists, and you rarely hear him in conversations as a potential opponent for guys like Gervonta Davis, Keyshawn Davis, and others in his weight class like O'Shaquie Foster or Raymond Ford. Perhaps a win on Saturday night sets up an intriguing unification fight between Navarrete and Foster. However, Suarez will obviously have something to say about that. The Filipino veteran has an impressive amateur boxing pedigree, and his undefeated run as a pro has validated his skill. He'll be attempting to upset Navarrete in front of what will certainly be a crowd cheering on the champion. The co-main event is a big one with major world-title implications. While Muratalla and Abdulalev are battling for a vacant interim title, the winner will be the No. 1 contender for Vasyl Lomachenko's title. With the Ukrainian legend inactive and his future in the sport uncertain, it's feasible the winner of Saturday's co-main event could be elevated to full champion sometime down the line. In any case, it's an excellent opportunity for both fighters.

If Navarrete had won, he would have become a four-weight champion. The setback marked the first loss of Navarrete's career since he lost a unanimous decision to Daniel Argueta in his sixth pro bout, back in 2012. Navarrete, who has held the WBO junior lightweight title since he won the vacant belt with a TKO over Liam Wilson in February 2023, bounced back from the loss to Berinchyk with a sixth-round knockout of Oscar Valdez in December. That fight was his third defense of his WBO belt. ESPN has Navarrete as the No. 1 boxer in the junior lightweight division. This matchup marks his 16th world title fight. Charly Suarez (18-0, 10 KOs) is the No. 1 ranked contender according to the WBO. Suarez is coming off a September 2024 TKO win over Jorge Castaneda. Suarez had a long and accomplished amateur career before turning pro in 2019, including representing the Philippines at the 2016 Olympics. Raymond Muratalla (22-0, 17 KOs) puts his undefeated record on the line on Saturday. The 28-year-old is the No. 3 rated lightweight according to the IBF, while the WBO has him ranked at No. 1. Muratalla is coming off a November TKO win over Jesus Antonio Perez Campos. 'I've been working toward this my whole life. Every fighter dreams of becoming a world champion, and on May 10, I take a big step toward making that a reality,' Muratalla said. 'Zaur Abdullaev is a good fighter. He's beaten tough opponents, including former world champions, but I'm done waiting. I'm highly ranked and have put in the work. It's my time now. When I take that interim title, the Raymond Muratalla era begins." Zaur Abdullaev (20-1, 12 KOs) is on an eight-fight winning streak since losing to Devin Haney in September 2019 in a fight for the interim WBC lightweight belt. On Saturday he will fight for his first major title since that setback. The 31-year-old Russian is coming off a unanimous decision win over Roger Gutiérrez in February 2024. Abdullaev has not fought in America since facing Haney. That fight was his first bout outside of Russia. Abdullaev is the No. 2 ranked fighter in the IBF's 135-pound division. The WBO has him in the No. 3 slot. 'I'm coming to America ready to take this belt,' Abdullaev said. 'Muratalla is a top contender, but I have the skills and experience needed to emerge victorious.' Forbes will have more on the Emanuel Navarrete Vs. Charly Suarez fight card as fight night nears.

Emanuel Navarrete Vs. Charly Suarez Full Card: Date, Time & How To Watch

Reigning WBO junior lightweight champion Emanuel 'Vaquero' Navarrete (39-2-1, 32 KO) will defend his title against undefeated Filipino contender Charly Suarez (18-0, 10 KO) in the main event of Saturday night's biggest boxing draw. Here is a look at the viewing information. Navarrete is probably the most underrated champion in the sport. Despite his stellar record and tendency to put on exciting fights, he's never mentioned as one of the pound-for-pound best in the sport. In his last fight, Navarrete broke down and stopped Oscar Valdez in December 2024. Suarez, 36, earned a stoppage victory over Jorge Castaneda in his last fight back in September 2024 to set up this championship opportunity. Despite his age, Saturday's clash with Navarrete will be Suarez's first opportunity to win a world title. While Navarrete-Suarez is the main event, there is an intriguing lightweight battle on tap in the co-main event for a vacant title at 135 pounds. Here is a look at the entire fight card: The co-main event clash between Muratalla and Abdullaev will determine the interim IBF champion and the No. 1 contender for Vasyl Lomachenko. The Ukrainian legend will have been inactive for almost a year to the day when Muratalla and Abdullaev fight. Lomachenko won the vacant IBF title when he scored an 11th-round TKO victory over George Kambosos Jr. on May 12, 2024. Lomachenko was supposed to fight Gervonta Davis in a unification bout late last year, but the former pulled out, which led the latter to fight Lamont Roach Jr. in March in a fight that wound up a draw. The winner of Muratalla-Abdullaev is likely a much easier unification bout to make for the winner of Davis-Roach—unless they wind up having a trilogy. In any case, Muratalla-Abdullaev could be set for a war. Muratalla is an undefeated (22-0, 17 KO) power-punching slugger who hails from Fontana, California, so he will definitely have the fans behind him against Abdullaev. The 31-year-old Abdullaev is 20-1 with 12 KOs. The Russian's only loss came to Devin Haney in September 2019. While neither man has what we might consider a marquee name, don't be surprised if the co-main event presents a memorable scrap for a vacant title and the next opponent for the winner of Davis-Roach. Be on the lookout for live results covering the entire televised card for those who will be unable to watch it live.
