Cops Nab Burglars After 300Km Chase, 12-Hour Trap in Raipur
Nagpur: In a clinical display of police work, a police team from Wadi nabbed two notorious burglars, Naved alias Danish Shah, 25, and Imran alias Raja Khan, 27, after a dramatic 300km chase spanning Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. This culminated in a 12-hour trap at Gaon Bhata Chowk near Raipur. The busting of this burglary gang, facilitated by tapping communication with a girlfriend, yielded gold and silver worth more than Rs 19 lakh, two cars, mobile phones, and other materials. The duo, known for their unique skill of breaking locks using a scarf as a 'tool' among other techniques, were nabbed in Chhattisgarh following Wadi police's razor-sharp planning and technical expertise in tackling shrewd criminals. It was the police's strategy of keeping a tab on their communication with their girlfriend that undid the goons' plans to evade capture. The duo was arrested following the interrogation of their accomplice, Sheikh Altaf Sheikh Arif, 24, who was nabbed by the Wadi team of sub-inspector Amit Bandgar and senior inspector Rajesh Tatkare. The cops chased their car, with a clue that it had a sticker of 'Patel Dhandal' on it. The detection came after a burglary at the house of Prakash Irpate, 62, resident of Lava, between August 2 and August 5, when Irpate and his family were in Ujjain. A case was registered with Wadi police. Cops used CCTV footage spanning 17km from Wadi to arrest Altaf on August 7 by a team comprising Yashodharanagar policemen. His arrest rattled Naved and Imran, who fled to Chhattisgarh, using dirt roads to evade tolls, frequently changing SIMs, and making UPI payments to cover their tracks. However, the police, under ACP Satish Gurav and Zonal DCP Rushikesh Singa Reddy, meticulously tracked the duo by monitoring one of their girlfriend's cell phones. After a relentless pursuit, police set a 12-hour trap in Raipur, apprehending Naved and Imran. The trio confessed to the crime during interrogation. Owners of marriage bureau among four nabbed in child trafficking case
Ghaziabad: Two women who own marriage bureaus in Muzaffarnagar and Shamli were among four persons arrested for allegedly running a child trafficking racket that involved abducting babies and selling them to childless couples across various states. The gang, according to police, targeted fair-skinned newborns, who fetched them anything up to Rs 5 lakh. The rate — upwards of Rs 1.5 lakh — depended on the child's gender and skin tone. Police are also looking for a nurse attached to a Moradabad hospital and an Asha worker in connection with the racket, suggesting the possible involvement of health facilities in selling off babies. The four arrested gang members are Naved Ansari (19), Afsar (28), Swati alias Shaista (35), and Sandhya Chauhan (37). Sandhya operated the Subharti Marriage Bureau in Muzaffarnagar, while Swati ran Pari Marriage Bureau in Moradabad. Afsar owned a meat shop in Tronica City while Naved was a daily wager. The veil was lifted off the racket after police traced an abductor to a house in Loni and rescued a one-year-old boy on Thursday. The police probe began after the boy's father, Rashid, lodged a complaint about his missing son, who was last seen playing outside their house in Tronica City. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like With temperatures hitting 95°F, this is the mini air conditioner everyone's buying in the U.S News of the Discovery Undo CCTV footage from nearby bus stands and railway stations was scrutinised, leading to the identification of a man carrying the child. The cops traced the man to the house in Loni, where the child was found with a woman. The woman said Naved had given her the boy, claiming that his mother had eloped. Police investigation revealed that a couple from Moradabad had initially shown interest in taking the boy for Rs 2.5 lakh. But when they backed out, the gang contacted another couple in Amroha, who agreed to pay Rs 1.5 lakh. Naved, according to cops, had kept the baby boy in the Loni house for only a couple of hours when police barged in and rescued him. It was Afsar who had tipped off Naved about the child playing outside his house on Tuesday. Afsar, who was promised a commission for information on the boy, told interrogators that he was under mounting debt because his meat shop was shut during the month of Sawan. ACP Siddharth Gautam said the gang had spread its tentacles to Delhi, Bijnor, Moradabad, Roorkee, Amroha, and possibly Jammu & Kashmir and Nepal. So, how did they operate? The gang's members would randomly click photos of children playing and circulate them on social media, particularly WhatsApp groups. Swati and Sandhya, who had contacts of couples who came to their marriage bureaus, would reach out to them with photos of the babies, especially if they were childless after years of tying the knot. The rates would then be discussed, depending on the gender and complexion of the child. Nurse Ranjhana alias Reeta of Moradabad and Asha worker Deepak Singh would also give information on children from their health facilities, particularly those born to women with unwanted pregnancies and from poor background. Initial investigation revealed that Reeta was active in the gang for two years and a half. She would transfer babies to the other gang members after misleading women patients that they had delivered a stillborn. The cops said they had recovered several incriminating chats from the mobile phones of the accused women. The chats included discussions with Reeta and Deepak about selling the children and their possible rates. An FIR was registered against the arrested accused under Section 143 (4) (trafficking) of the BNS at Tronica City police station. "We plan to add more charges as the investigation progresses," an officer said. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI). Threat emails to Zeeshan Siddique: prankster held at Mumbai airport on return from Trinidad and Tobago
The Crime Branch of the Mumbai police on Friday morning arrested a man returning from Trinidad and Tobago for allegedly sending threatening emails to former MLA Zeeshan Siddique, the son of the late Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique. The accused, identified as Bihar native Mohammad Dilshad Naved, was held at the international airport in Mumbai. A police officer said that soon after the threatening emails were received last year, the police had identified Naved as the culprit and issued a Look Out Circular against him. Naved had gone to the Caribbean island nation to work at his uncle's shop there, a senior officer revealed. 'He saw some videos on social media regarding the murder of Baba Siddique. As a prank, he sent several emails to Zeeshan Siddique, threatening him. Naved thought that since he was so far away, law enforcement agencies would not apprehend him,' the senior officer said. Baba Siddique was shot dead by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang on October 12 last year. Officers said that the email threats were sent to Zeeshan's official email ID on April 19 this year, followed by several more over the next two days. The sender allegedly demanded Rs 10 crore and mentioned the Dawood Ibrahim gang. Investigators said the accused probably believed that he might earn some money in this manner. Subsequently, Zeeshan filed a complaint at the Bandra police station. Last year, threat emails sent to actor Salman Khan were found to have originated in the United Kingdom. In that case, the police allegedly found that the accused was an Indian student who had gone to the UK to study and sent the email as a prank, following which a Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued against him. The person will be arrested when he lands in India. The officer said that people based abroad, especially those of Indian origin, feel that if they send a threatening email from another country, they will not land in trouble. 'That is, however, not true. We take proper legal action to ensure that whenever such a person tries to move out of that country, they are detained at the airport,' he added.

Four arrested after 1,400 kg adulterated paneer seized
Noida: Four Aligarh-based men were arrested on Sunday for allegedly manufacturing and supplying adulterated paneer to a Noida market, police said, adding that 1,400 kilograms of adulterated paneer and raw material used in its production were confiscated from their possession. Late Saturday night, police received a tip-off about a pick-up truck carrying adulterated paneer, and that it was en route to Noida for delivery, said officers. (Representational image) Late Saturday night, police received a tip-off about a pick-up truck carrying adulterated paneer, and that it was en route to Noida for delivery, said officers. 'We set up a checkpoint and stopped the truck for inspection in Sector 63,' said DCP (Central Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthy. 'The truck driver, Gulfam (single name), 23, from Sehajpur, Aligarh, and two of his aides, hired as daily wagers—Naved, 20, and Iqbal, 30, also from Aligarh—revealed that they worked for Faridabad-based men named Guddu and Afsar,'the DCP added. Police said Naved had joined the operation about a fortnight ago, while Iqbal claimed that it was his first time delivering paneer. 'Guddu, a resident of Pisawa, Aligarh, was arrested on Sunday, and efforts are on to nab his partner Afsar,' said DCP Avasthy. An investigation found that the suspects had been involved in manufacturing and supplying adulterated paneer in the National Capital Region (NCR), including Noida and Greater Noida, for the last six months. 'They used to deliver quintals of paneer to Noida every two to three days. Their shopkeepers were fixed clients. We are investigating whether these shopkeepers were aware of the adulteration,' said Sector 63 station house officer Avdhesh Pratap Singh. 'They were producing two types of paneer—one made by mixing ₹ 30-per-litre milk with some powder, and the other by mixing dry milk with palmolein oil… charging ₹ 180 and ₹ 220 per kilogram,' said Singh, adding that Sections 274 (adulteration of food), 275 (sale of noxious food), and 318 (cheating) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita have been registered at the Sector 63 police station. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the absconding accused. Police recovered machines used to manufacture paneer, raw material including powder, palmolein oil, and small bottles of paint used to whiten the paneer. The Food Safety Department, and samples have been sent to Agra for forensic testing, it added.

Last Updated: Farah Khan, in her recent YouTube vlog, visited Jaaved Jaaferi's house where she met up with Naved Jafri and Ravi Behl - the iconic trio of Boogie Woogie. 'Why is Farah Khan not making movies?" 'Because she's busy cooking up bangers on YouTube." If you are aware of Indian director and choreographer Farah Khan's YouTube game, it's not hard to understand why she's currently in her influencer era. Her vlogs with her man Friday, Dilip, are centered around food, fun banter, and catching up with Bollywood's noted personalities. Her recent vlog with Jaaved Jaaferi, Naved Jafri, and Ravi Behl, however, summoned the millennials like no episode of hers did before. 'Aaj hum jaa rahe hain Jaaved Jaaferi ke laavish ghar! Ghar ke tour ke saath milenge Naved Jafri aur Ravi Behl – yaani Boogie Woogie ke legends! Saath mein hogi dher saari masti, baatein aur cooking – banayenge delicious Mutton Chaap aur Chicken Biscuit (Today we are going to Jaaved Jaaferi's lavish house. Along with the house tour, we will meet Naved Jafri and Ravi Behl – the Boogie Woogie legends! Together, we will have a lot of fun, engage in conversations and some cooking – we will cook Mutton Chaap and Chicken Biscuit)," Farah's video description read. Boogie Woogie The longest-running reality show on Indian television, Boogie Woogie, was conceived by Naved, who called up Ravi and said: 'let's do something!" 'Ek din ghar pe baetha hua tha. Naved ne phone kiya. Naved roz aa jaata tha ghar pe ya main iske ghar pe called. Bola yaar kuch karte hain. Isne bola dance show banate hain. That was the most obvious thing to do. Paper pe do page ka concept likha. Gaana purana mera favourite tha. Boogie Woogie rakhte hain (One day I was at home, Naved called. Naved would come over every day or I would be at his place. He said let's do something, let's make a dance show. That was the most obvious thing to do. The concept was written on two pages. 'Boogie Woogie' was my favourite song. We titled the show 'Boogie Woogie')," Ravi, who co-founded the show with Naved, recalled. Pilot Failed, Almost After receiving a handsome cheque of Rs 14 lakh and a green signal from Sudesh Iyer, the pilot episode was shot but the Sony staff was far from convinced. When Iyer arrived at the scene and watched the first seven minutes or so of Boogie Woogie's pilot, he recognised that they were up to something special. 'Boss superhit hai. Go on-air," Iyer told the makers. And the rest was history. No Sob Fest The trio of Jaaved, Naved, and Ravi wanted the show to be organic and not a sob fest, as reality shows today use this tactic to gain viewership. The three judges instead focused on the dancing skills of their contestants rather than selling their sad stories to the public. Ravi added that they would eat food cooked by contestants' parents while filming and judging the show. Nostalgia Max Those who tuned into the episode which has been viewed over 1.4 million times since its upload on June 16, were instantly taken back in time. Recalling the 18 glorious years of Boogie Woogie, the fans of the dance show assembled in huge numbers in the comments section of Farah Khan's YouTube channel. 'Brought back Childhood memories of watching Boogie Woogie! 90s kids had a privilege to watch it!" wrote one commenter. 'Best dance show till date Boogie Woogie … Childhood nostalgia.. I'm 41 now and they're 60, (sic)" added another. 'Boogie woogie jaisa dance 🩰 show aaj tak nahi aaya, jisme real talent hi winner 🏆 hota tha, pahle se fixed nahi… hum ye teeno ko Miss karte hai, Javed sir india ke first break dancer hai.. RESPECT, (sic)" commented a third user. The Intro Remember this iconic intro? Boo!
