Areca Capital hosts inaugural Sarawak investment and wealth forum
Panellists during the Areca Investment and Wealth Forum 2025 held here recently.
KUCHING (July 30): Areca Capital held its inaugural Areca Investment and Wealth Forum 2025 (Sarawak) at Sheraton Hotel here recently, bringing together thought leaders, investors and business professionals for a full day of insights, strategic dialogue and future-focused financial planning.
As economic headwinds and geopolitical uncertainty continue to shape the global landscape, the forum offered a timely platform to explore market trends, global shifts and actionable investment strategies across various asset classes and sectors.

A keynote session titled Navigating the New World Order by Tan Sri Andrew Sheng, Distinguished Fellow at the Asia Global Institute, The University of Hong Kong, opened the event.
He shared a sharp analysis of the changing global power structure and offered key insights for investors and business owners.
This was followed by three panel discussions. The first session, Opportunities in Uncertainty – Market and Investment Outlook, was moderated by Edward Iskandar Toh, Chief Executive Officer of Acaena Capital Pte Ltd.
Panellists included Areca Capital Chief Investment Officer Ch'ng Cheng Siew and Fullgoal Asset Management HK Deputy Director Ning Jun.
They discussed how interest rate pivots, inflationary pressure and trade realignments are impacting markets, and how seasoned investors are navigating volatility to find opportunities.
The second session, Fuelling Growth – Business and Funding Strategies, featured Areca Capital General Manager Wong Chaw Chern as moderator. The panel included Acaena Capital Pte Ltd Chief Executive Officer Edward Iskandar Toh and Sarawak Manufacturers' Association President Peter Chai Mui Seng.
They explored how business owners can tap into private capital, explore alternative funding options and rethink growth strategies beyond traditional approaches.
The final session, Safeguarding Your Legacy – Private Trust and Estate Planning, was moderated by The Edge Wealth Editor Kuek Ser Kwang Zhe.
