PM gifts Bihar with projects worth Rs 48,500 crore
Bikramganj, May 30 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday gifted Bihar with projects worth Rs 48,500 crores in power, road, railway and education sectors, which would accelerate the pace of development of the state. Modi, during a public meeting at Bikramganj in Rohtas district of Bihar, launched and laid foundation stones for several projects by pressing the button of the remote control system. Projects are related to power, roads, railways and energy sectors. "All the projects either launched today or for which foundation stones have been laid will accelerate the pace of development of Bihar in days ahead," the prime minister said, adding that India could be a developed nation only if Bihar became a developed state. It was a day for people of Bihar, which would usher in a new era of development and growth, creating job opportunities for youths and also improving the quality of life, he added. Modi laid the foundation stones for NTPC Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-2, four projects of six laning and four laning of National Highways; and the construction of Ganga bridge between Buxar and Bharauli on NH-22. Two projects of four-laning of National Highways, 192-bed dormitories for students and staff quarters at Navodaya Vidyalaya, automatic signalling between Sasaram and Anugrah Narayan Road, and the 3rd rail line between Son Nagar and Mohammad Ganj were also inaugurated by the Prime Minister. Navodaya Vidyalaya exams: 17 more nabbed for cheating using electronic devices
As many as 17 persons were arrested by UT police on Wednesday for allegedly using electronic gadgets to cheat during the Navodaya Vidyalaya recruitment examination held on May 17 and 18. The arrested accused were named in two separate FIRs for allegedly impersonating and cheating using Wi-Fi devices, Bluetooth devices, and hearing aids during the exam. The first FIR has been registered at Sector-26 police station on a complaint filed by the principal of SGGS Collegiate Public School, Sector 26. The accused — identified as Neeraj Kumar, Deepak, Anjeet, Pardeep, Vikash, Rohit, Pankaj, Jatin, Mohit, and one woman — were caught at the examination centre allegedly using Wi-Fi devices and hearing aids to cheat. They have been booked under Sections 10 and 11 of the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act The other FIR has been registered at Sector-26 police station on the complaint of the principal of Moti Ram Arya Senior Public School, Sector 27. The accused in this case — Mandeep, Deepak Kumar, Ravi, Rahul, Harsh, Arman, and one woman — were allegedly found using Bluetooth devices during the examination. Both FIRs are currently under investigation, and the police are probing into possible links to organised cheating rackets. Earlier on May 19, police had arrested another 17 persons named in four FIRs registered for alleged use of electronic devices to cheat during the exam held on May 18.

CBSE Class 10 results: Thiruvananthapuram, Vijayawada top in pass percentage
KOCHI: The Thiruvananthapuram region has got a tough contender for the first position in Vijayawada in terms of the highest pass percentage in the country when the 2025 Class 10 results were announced. The Thiruvananthapuram region shared the glory with the Vijayawada region for the highest pass percentage in the country, with a score of 99.79 per cent each. Bengaluru came third with 98,90 per cent. The overall pass percentage for Class X in the country this year was 93.66 per cent, an increase of 0.06 per cent from 2024's 93.60 per cent. A total of 23,71,939 students had appeared for the Class X examination in the country. The Thiruvananthapuram region comprises schools in Kerala and Lakshadweep. In the gender-wise pass percentage, girls trumped boys by 2.37 per cent. The pass percentage for girls was 95 per cent, an increase of 0.25 per cent from 2024's 94.75 per cent. As for boys, the pass percentage was 92.63 per cent, a decrease of 0.08 per cent. The transgender category saw an increase in the pass percentage from 91.30 per cent in 2024 to 95 per cent in 2025. In the case of institution-wise performance, the Navodaya Vidyalaya topped the pass percentage list with 99.49 per cent, and Kendriya Vidyalaya came second with 99.45 per cent. The number of students who scored above 95 per cent in the country was 45,516. The number of students who have been placed in compartments this year was 1,41,353. In the Thiruvananthapuram region, girls did better than the boys in the pass percentage by 0.10 per cent - 99.84 per cent against 99.74 per cent. Lakshadweep showcased a pass percentage of 90.69 per cent.

Despite the struggles, Babita never let go of her children's dreams. Encouraged by Divya's strong academic record and determination, she worked tirelessly to support their education and future. Divya chose a non-traditional path to success, relying on online resources and test series instead of conventional coaching to crack the UPSC exam. At 21, Divya cracked the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2021 and secured an impressive All India Rank(AIR) of 438. At just 21, she become one of the youngest IPS officers in the country. Divya's overall marks were 930, with 751 marks in the written examination and 179 marks in the personality test in the UPSC Civil Services (MAIN) Examination, 2021. She belonged to the EWS category. However, she was not satisfied and so with the renewed determination, Divya cracked the exam successfully again in 2022. This time, she scored an All India Rank(AIR) of 105. Divya's overall marks were 994, with 834 marks in the written examination and 160 marks in the personality test in the UPSC Civil Services (MAIN) Examination, 2022. This achievement fulfilled her dream of becoming an IAS officer.
