'Deport my husband, he's fake, marrying someone else in US': Indian woman Samanpreet Kaur's plea to ICE goes viral
Indian woman writes on Instagram that her husband is illegally in the US, asks ICE to deport him. An Indian woman has urged the ICE to deport her husband, claiming that he sought asylum in the US on a fake ground; he has no life threat in India and is now going to marry someone else. Giving details of her husband, Samanpreet said that she lives in India while her husband Navreet Singh is in California's Fresno. Navreet came to the US in 2022 on an asylum case and they have a seven-year-old daughter. Samanpreet claimed that Navreet's asylum case is fake and he entered the US illegally only to earn money and citizenship. She also explained why she did not out him before. She was threatened by her in-laws and then was promised that she would also be taken to the US. The post revealed secret routes to enter the US illegally -- via Nepal or via Africa. But Samanpreet did not go to the US. An Indian woman appealed to ICE to deport her husband who made a fake claim to get asylum in the country. The aggrieved wife claimed that her husband told her father that he was marrying someone in the US for a green card. "I can give proof of his fake asylum whenever i am asked. I want justice for me and my daughter. So I request that he be deported for faking asylum. And if he has really married someone or intending to marry as told by my father-in-law, I want to file case against both of them as well deport my husband back to his home. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like What Happens When You Massage Baking Soda Into Your Scalp Read More Undo Bigamy is a criminal offense in India as well USA," the woman wrote. "It is not that I have any grudge against my husband. But being from Sikh family, I believe in one marriage only. If my husband claims to be Khalistani, then how come he can abandon sikh customs and marry another woman while having a wife and child already," Samanpreet added.

Record single-day wheat lifting in Mohali district mandis
Mohali: In a significant milestone for the ongoing wheat procurement season, government purchasing agencies have set a new single-day record, lifting 6,474 metric tons (MT) of wheat from the district's grain markets. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now With additional purchases by private traders, the total wheat lifted in a single day surged to 8,015 MT, according to deputy commissioner Komal Mittal. DC Mittal highlighted that this record-breaking lifting operation reflects the coordinated efforts of procurement agencies to ensure smooth and timely transportation of wheat from mandis to storage points. She said special arrangements, including the mobilisation of trains and containers, are being made to expedite wheat movement to other states. "The wheat procurement process is running at full capacity across district mandis, and efforts are being intensified to maintain the momentum," she said. District food and supply controller Dr Navreet said a total of 81,076 MT of wheat has been procured from district markets so far this season. Out of this, 37,153 MT — about 66% — were lifted within 72 hours, adhering to government timelines. He assured that the remaining stock would also be cleared without delay. Dr Navreet also said market arrivals have peaked in recent days, and all logistical arrangements, including the availability of bales and labour, are in place. He also noted an impressive payment performance: Rs 181.60 crore has been credited to farmers' accounts by April 23, exceeding the 48-hour payment target with 119% efficiency. "All government agencies are working round-the-clock to ensure the timely lifting of procured wheat and to keep the grain markets uncluttered," he said. "Under the directives of the Punjab government, we are committed to purchasing every single grain of wheat brought by farmers to the mandis," she said.
