Nayanthara tied the knot with longtime partner and filmmaker Vignesh Shivan on June 9 at a private resort in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu. The wedding was a high-profile event attended by several top names in the Indian film industry. From Rajinikanth to Shah Rukh Khan, Boney Kapoor to SJ Suryah, the guest list was glittering with industry stalwarts. Vijay Sethupathi, who co-starred with both actresses in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, was also present at the Sheraton Hotel venue.

She was shooting for the second schedule of her film Kushi and was unable to take time off. Described as 'literally living a suitcase life,' Samantha's packed calendar made it impossible for her to attend the wedding, despite her fondness for the couple.
On the work front, Samantha's previous outing was 'Subham' and Nayanthara was last seen in the thriller 'Test'.
