Pirates ‘threw' three points away against Gallants, says Nduli

Nduli believes that with the chances they created, they should have easily won the game. Orlando Pirates midfielder Sihle Nduli says the Buccaneers 'threw the game away' against Marumo Gallants. This comes after the Buccaneers suffered a 2-1 loss to Bahlabane Ba Ntwa in a Betway Premiership clash played at the Dr Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein on Tuesday. ALSO READ: 'Take Mofokeng out of Pirates and they'll struggle,' – Sundowns' Cardoso It was Pirates' second defeat in as many games after they lost 1-0 to Sekhukhune United in their opening match of the season. Nduli, who partnered Abdoulaye Mariko in the middle of the park for Pirates, believes that with the chances they created, they should have easily won the game. 'I think we started the game well and created a lot of chances, but we only managed to score one. With the chances we created, the game should have been done and dusted in the first half. We threw away the three points. We conceded silly goals,' said Nduli. Ouaddou under pressure at Pirates Pirates' sluggish start to the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season has brought an early pressure to new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou. Pirates next face Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg of the MTN8 semifinals at home at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday and another loss in this encounter could put more pressure on him or worse, he could be shown the exit door. The Moroccan, who replaced Jose Riveiro at the end of last season, was at a loss for words to explain how Pirates, who dominated the game against Gallants from start to finish, lost it. 'We started the game very well, opening the score and creating a lot of chances again that we didn't put in the net and like I said when you don't score, you give the opponents an opportunity to finish you,' said Ouaddou after the game. Ouaddou added that he and his technical team will go back to the drawing board and analyse what went wrong in Bloemfontein and try to fix it. We tried to make some changes to bring some fresh blood, Unfortunately, the changes we made didn't give what we expect from them, their level.' Meanwhile, Pirates will play Lioli FC of Lesotho in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. The preliminary round kicks off with first-leg matches between 19–21 September 2025 and second-leg matches between 26–28 September 2025. Pirates are away in Lesotho in the first leg.

Orlando Pirates Ratings: Who FIRED, who FLOPPED

Orlando Pirates beat Polokwane City to book their spot in the MTN 8 semi-finals. Orlando Pirates beat Polokwane City 2-0 in the quarter finals of the MTN8 on Saturday, 02 August 2025. So, let's take a look at the players who fired on all cylinders. As well as the players who performed slightly below-par. Oswin Appollis – 8.5 Appollis kick-started his Pirates career off in fine fashion. So, he scored a goal and won a penalty to help inspire the Bucs to a 2-0 win. He remained a constant threat on attack. Furthermore, Appollis kept the Polokwane City defenders busy with his pace and skill. Sipho Mbule – 7.5 Mbule is set to become a new Bucs fan-favourite. ' Master Chef ' cooked in the midfield on debut. He was composed and solid in the midfield. Thereafter, a solid 70-minutes ended with fans chanting ' Weh Mbule ' in appreciation for his first impressive debut. Sihle Nduli – 7.5 Meanwhile, Nduli also had a very strong debut. The former Stellenbosch FC midfielder was like a magnet in the midfield with Nduli. He knew when to counter and when to play it back. Also, he was great defensively too. Deon Hotto 7.5 Finally, the Bucs veteran showed why he is still highly rated at Pirates. Hotto hardly put a foot wrong and as he was solid at the back. The Polokwane Wingers were well marked by Hotto who stood his ground. He also knew when to make overlapping runs on the counter to offer himself as an attacking option. Bandile Shandu – 6.5 Shandu didn't have a bad outing but it was far from his best. He was beaten on defence a couple of times and was not as sharp as he usually is on defence. Relebohile Mofokeng – 6.5 There is no doubt that Mofokeng is one of the best young players in the PSL. However, on Saturday he was overshadowed by Appollis and Radiopane on attack. Most of the attacks came from the right side. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Orlando Pirates: FOURTH signing confirmed?

Orlando Pirates may have already made four more signings than the last transfer window. Orlando Pirates signed no new players in the PSL transfer window back in January. However, they have reportedly already completed four transfer deals before the next one is even open. Recent reports from The South African, claim that Pirates have just signed Sinoxolo Kwayiba. So, if these reports are true, the Bucs have already completed four deals. Initially, reports emerged stating that Pirates completed their first deal. 'It's a done deal. (Kabelo) Kgositsile will be in the books of Orlando Pirates next season. There were no issues regarding the movement of the player as both clubs enjoy a good relationship and it was easy to finalise the deal,' the insider stated on KickOff. Thereafter, further enticing reports emerged. The Bucs have reportedly also lured Stellenbosch FC midfielder, Nduli to Naturena. 'Looks like he (Nduli) is going to Mayfair (Orlando Pirates), and to think Chiefs were so close in the last window,' an insider stated. 'But we know that Pirates are cleaning house and will need to bring in replacements for people like Makhaula, who has done so well but is on the wrong side of 30 now,' he added. Meanwhile, they promoted DDC youngster, Tau into the first team. Finally, as mentioned, Pirates have reportedly lured this R7-million midfielder to Mayfair. Therefore, Pirates have reported signed THREE players from PSL rivals. Meanwhile, Tau becomes the FOURTH new first team Bucs player. Orlando Pirates overtake Kaizer Chiefs in Sihle Nduli transfer chase

Orlando Pirates overtake Kaizer Chiefs in the Sihle Nduli transfer chase. The fierce transfer rivalry between Soweto titans Amakhosi and the Bucs has taken a dramatic turn, with Pirates now surging ahead in the battle to land Stellenbosch FC's midfield enforcer, Nduli. What once seemed like a two-horse race has shifted firmly in favour of the Buccaneers. A source revealed that Pirates have moved decisively, tabling an offer that could clinch the signature of the highly-rated 29-year-old. Kaizer Chiefs had been closely monitoring Nduli for several months, hoping to secure the seasoned midfielder on a free transfer. However, the latest developments suggest Orlando Pirates are now the front-runners. A source confirmed Pirates' aggressive push. 'For now they are pulling all the stops to get the players they need. He is not the only one but with him the deal is as good as done. Pirates are apparently believed to be doing their best and have Nduli for next season. So, for now they are the favourites and set to beat rivals Kaizer Chiefs,' the source explained. This shift signals a major coup for Pirates if they manage to finalize the deal, especially considering Chiefs' long-standing interest in the player. Chiefs had hoped to secure Nduli without a transfer fee, banking on the expiration of his contract at the end of the season. However, Stellenbosch FC have reportedly offered Nduli a contract extension, complicating matters significantly. 'His contract is expected to run out at the end of the season but it's believed that Stellenbosch have already offered him an extension to his current contract,' the source added. 'So, although Chiefs were hoping to get him on a free transfer, it's not clear yet how his probable move to Pirates will happen, whether it will be for free or they will buy him. But it's highly probable.' Nduli has been a consistent presence for Stellenbosch FC, racking up 21 appearances in the Betway Premiership this season. His reliability, tactical awareness, and defensive capabilities have made him a prized target in this transfer window. As the clock ticks down to the end of the season, all eyes remain on Pirates and Chiefs in what is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched transfer battles in South African football. Stay tuned with The South African as Orlando Pirates overtake Kaizer Chiefs in the Sihle Nduli transfer. Who will land Nduli at the end of the season?
