Police seek witnesses in child molestation case involving Bangladeshi worker
KUALA LUMPUR: Police are looking for witnesses to assist in the investigation into the alleged molestation of a nine-year-old girl by a Bangladeshi worker at a convenience store in Kajang, near here, in February. Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said this followed the discovery of a viral video uploaded on Friday (Aug 8) by X account holder @Negeri09, alleging an incident of sexual harassment involving a child, with the footage also showing a man being assaulted. "Checks found that a police report was lodged on March 12 by the victim's 32-year-old father. He claimed that his daughter was molested on Feb 27. The report was made after the victim disclosed the incident to her family on March 11. "The witness to the incident has yet to be located to assist the investigation as there is no closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the location,' he said in a statement on Saturday (Aug 9). ACP Naazron urged anyone with information to come forward by contacting investigating officer Sgt Norfaziana Sirkam at 019-5759045 or the nearby police station.- Bernama

The incident reportedly occurred on February 27, with the victim's father lodging a police report on March 12. Kajang Police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof confirmed the case after a viral video surfaced on social media platform X, uploaded by user @Negeri09. The footage showed a man being assaulted alongside claims of sexual harassment involving the child. 'Checks found that a police report was lodged on March 12 by the victim's 32-year-old father. 'He claimed that his daughter was molested on Feb 27. The report was made after the victim disclosed the incident to her family on March 11,' Naazron said. Authorities face challenges as no CCTV footage from the location is available. 'The witness to the incident has yet to be located to assist the investigation as there is no closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the location,' he added. KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating a viral video where a man alleges his nine-year-old daughter was molested by a Bangladeshi worker. The video, uploaded by X user @Negeri09, suggested the worker touched the girl's chest and sexually harassed her. It also contained violent elements. Kajang police chief, Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, said in a statement today that the case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code and Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017. Voluntarily causing hurt under the Penal Code carries a maximum punishment of one year's imprisonment, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both. Physical sexual assault on a child under the Sexual Offences Against Children Act carries a maximum imprisonment of 20 years and discretionary whipping. The police chief said the victim's 32-year-old Malaysian father lodged a report on March 12, 2025, alleging his daughter was molested by the migrant worker at a convenience store in Kajang. "The molestation was believed to have occurred on Feb 27, 2025. A police report was made two weeks later after the victim shared the incident on March 11, 2025. "The witnesses in this case are still being tracked down to assist with investigations as there is no closed-circuit television footage at the scene," he said.
