3 plays tell woman side stories
Lucknow: Dramatised versions of stories by women writers were staged on seventh day of a drama festival at UP Sangeet Natak Akademi on Sunday. Stage plays based on the stories 'Netagiri' by Sandhya Sinha, 'Waapsi' by Kamal Kapoor and 'Dosh' by Ruchi Srivastava were directed by Sangam Bahuguna and Vikas Srivastava.

'Netagiri' revolves around the pain of Mahri a maid servant of Saroj, tortured by her husband. Saroj urges her to take stand for herself and not fear her husband.
The other play, 'Waapsi', sheds light on the struggle of someone who loves a person from another religion and because of norms of the society and family pressure the couple could not marry. The story revolves around Indu and Sahil who fall in love but have to sacrifice their love because of societal norms.
They meet again after 22 years and realise they are still in love with each other.
'Dosh' throws light on the joy of six years old Vandana who is given the responsibility of taking care of her newly wedded aunt (chachi). Being a girl child, she is happy to get little attention in an orthodox household. One day, when she goes playing with her cousin brothers and realisation shakes her as a child.
