NewDad announce second album, Altar
Galway alt-rock-trio NewDad will release their second album Altar this September and have trailed the release with new single, Roobosh. It follows their acclaimed 2024's debut album Madra. Speaking about the new track, front woman Julie Dawson says, " Roobosh is just about being fed up. I wanted to write one song for the album that allowed me to shout, to get out all my frustration. "Women get angry and we are expected to contain our rage but on this song I just allowed myself to go there. I wanted a song where I could moan and scream cause we all need to do that every once in a while and honestly it was just a bit of fun, letting myself get angry when I never allow myself to." Written over the past two years, Altar was born from a period of yearning for their hometown following the band's move to London. According to the Lonon-based trio, who are about the undertake a tour of China, Japan, the US and Europe, "the record explores themes of relationships, homesickness, ambition and sacrifice - and finds the trio grappling with the life they left behind in exchange for the promise of chasing their dreams". NewDad play Cyprus Avenue, Cork on1 November, Leisureland, Galway on 2 November and Mandela Hall, Belfast on 4 November.

Irish band NewDad announce show at Glasgow SWG3
NewDad, best known for their big hit Angel, will be performing at SWG3 TV Studio in the West End. The gig comes as part of the band's UK and Ireland 2025 tour, which will also take them to the likes of London, Dublin and Manchester. Galway band NewDad announce 3Olympia gig as part of EU tour
Galway band NewDad have announced an extensive UK, Ireland, and European tour, which will see the group perform across multiple countries in October 2025. The band have announced a headline show in Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre for Friday, October 31st, 2025. Advertisement Tickets for the gig will go on sale on Thursday, June 19th, at 10am with prices starting at €27.50 via Ticketmaster. NewDad have recently released their 'Safe' EP and announced US and Asian live shows. The band's live performances so far have included standout sets at Koko, Glastonbury and shows in China and Japan. Audiences have been told they can expect highlights from their debut album Madra, the recent 'Safe' EP and the upcoming second album.
