MPI set to host STREAM Expo 2025 to spark creativity, promote sustainable learning

SIBU (May 6): The Department of Early Childhood Education at Methodist Pilley Institute (MPI) is inviting the public to participate in 'New Era Fun 3.0 – STREAM Expo 2025: Igniting Creativity, Innovation, and Sustainable Learning' which will take place from May 23 to 25. MPI Board of Directors chairman Paul Wong said the event will begin with the Pre-Conference Seminar on May 23, starting from 2pm to 5.30pm at MPI, followed by a dinner, opening ceremony, the launching of the STREAM HUB, and Theme Forum Discussion 1. The conference will then proceed at Kingwood Hotel, starting at 8.30am on May 24 and continuing at 9.30am on May 25. Five distinguished speakers have been invited to share their expertise: Terra Phoenix Group CEO Professor Dr Tan Ching Seong; Associate Professor Dr Chiu Fu Yuan and Professor Dr Wang Tzu Hua from Hangzhou Dianzi University; Dr Andy Lin Kuen Hwang of National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan; and AIMSITY founder Jaylee Ong Hui Kim. Wong said the event is a forward-thinking initiative that champions creativity and sustainable development through STREAM education – an integrated approach combining Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. 'By bringing together estemeed academicians from leading instituitions, the expo aligns with the Ministry of Education's call to address the declining interest in STEM-related fields. 'More than a showcase, this expo serves as a platform for meaningful collaboration among educators, community organisations, and STREAM leaders, fostering a united movement to transform educational practices across diverse contexts,' he said during a press conference. Registration is still open. Those interested may sign up at The registration fee for Sarawakian participants is RM180 per person, while participants from Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia will be chraged RM320 per person. For international participants, the fee is USD150 per person. Group registration (minimum 10 participants) is also available at a discounted rate of RM120 per person for Sarawakians, RM200 per person for Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia participants, and USD100 per person for international participants.
