Newsboy's nap and selections for Chelmsford and 4 other meetings on Sunday

Newsboy's Nap selection for Sunday, June 1, is the James Owen-trained Carlton (4.00) at Chelmsford. His next best is Fakenham runner Gone In Sixty (5.05) CARLTON (4.45, nap) gets the vote to defend his unbeaten record at Chelmsford City with a win in the Sky Bet Extra Places Handicap at the Essex Showground on Sunday. James Owen's son of Frankel won his fifth race there from as many visits to the all-weather track with a length-and-a-quarter defeat of Son Of Red last time out last month. ‌ And the mount of Callum Shepherd looks capable of defying a 3lb rise in the weights. ‌ Over the jumps at Fakenham, play the numbers game with GONE IN SIXTY (5.05, nb) in the Racing TV Female Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle. ‌ The ride of Alice Stevens is admittedly a long-standing maiden but ran with credit when third at Bangor 15 days ago. The bay gelding now comes into this contest on a career-low mark and is ready to finally get into black type. Racing tips and nap from Newsboy for Hamilton and 4 other Wednesday meetings

Newsboy's Nap selection for Wednesday, May 28, is the Jim Goldie-trained Oriental Prince (4.00) at Hamilton. His next best, In A Hurry (3.10), runs at Beverley ENJOY some right royal success at Hamilton Park this afternoon by putting your faith in ORIENTAL PRINCE (4.00, nap) in the ICB (Water Proofing) Handicap . The Jim Goldie-trained four year old continued his remarkable season when winning at Haydock 18 days ago for a sixth success in 2025. ‌ On that occasion, he showed his courage by holding on from Abduction by a short head, and he can defy a further 3lb rise to garner an eighth career victory. ‌ At Beverley, be quick off the mark with IN A HURRY (3.10, nb) in the Skidby Restricted Maiden Stakes. The David O'Meara-trained Time Test filly was a good second in an Ayr maiden over a mile trip on her seasonal debut in April but was well beaten last time when stepping up a furlong in trip. The combination of that extended distance and her over-enthusiasm put paid to her chances on that occasion, but now she is down to seven and a half furlongs. Her debut as a juvenile last term was over seven furlongs and she was beaten a length into second in an encouraging run, and with two runner-up spots on her CV she looks ready to get her head in front. ‌ Wednesday tips HAMILTON 2.00 VICTOR CEE 2.30 A WAR EAGLE ‌ 3.00 AYR POET 3.30 LARCHILL LASS 4.00 ORIENTAL PRINCE (NAP) ‌ 4.30 DESTINADO 5.03 BRUCE BANNER ‌ BEVERLEY 2.10 DINAMO 2.40 COUNT PALATINE ‌ 3.10 IN A HURRY (NB) 3.40 CASILLI 4.10 HOSTELRY ‌ 4.40 SAWGRASS 5.10 GOLDEN RAINBOW ‌ NEWTON ABBOT 2.18 SHARP GLANCE 2.48 MR LE PHILOSOPHE ‌ 3.18 TELLAIRSUE 3.48 KICK UP A STORM 4.18 STRIKING A POSE ‌ 4.48 ON SPRINGS KEMPTON ‌ 5.18 OCEAN ODYSSEY 5.52 NANDITA 6.22 DR STRANGELOVE ‌ 6.52 SPY CHIEF 7.22 CRITICAL ACLAIM 7.52 ELTERWATER ‌ 8.22 TURQUINO 8.52 CAPONE ‌ CARTMEL 5.40 AT VIMEIRO 6.10 VOCAL DUKE ‌ 6.40 FOUROFAKIND 7.10 EVENWOOD SONOFAGUN 7.40 COQOLINO ‌ 8.10 LERMOOS LEGEND 8.40 AUTONOMOUS CLOUD Gamble responsibly Everyone at Reach is committed to promoting safer gambling. Newsboy's horse racing tips for Friday's five meetings, including Goodwood NAP

Newsboy has a strong fancy for Liberty Lane at Goodwood provided ground conditions remain suitable and likes the look of a William Haggas runner at Haydock A timely downpour can help LIBERTY LANE (3.50, NAP) put his best foot forward and land Listed honours at Goodwood today. Last year's Cambridgeshire winner has shown all his best form whenever the ground is on the soft side and he could be set to encounter those conditions after rain this week on a watered West Sussex track. So far this season Karl Burke's charge has finished fifth behind Dancing Gemini at Doncaster and third behind The Foxes at Chester, both efforts below his usual level of form. ‌ ‌ But he demonstrated what he was really capable of when runner-up to Lead Artist, last weekend's winner of the Lockinge Stakes, on his final start last season. The Festival Stakes is a drop in class that should be right up LIBERTY LANE'S street. The opening two-year-old race can go to ALVIN (2.05), who ran with great promise on debut at Newmarket after veering right exiting the stalls. At Haydock UNEQUAL LOVE (3.00, NB) has been found a golden opportunity to atone for an odds-on defeat at Newmarket over Guineas weekend. She contested the same Listed race she won 12 months previously en route to landing the Wokingham at Royal Ascot. This term she has Group 1 entries and, as she is best in at the ratings in the Listed Cecil Frail Stakes, a return to winning form can keep her on that path.

Newsboy's racing tips for Wednesday's five meetings, including Brighton nap

Newsboy's has two big fancies at Brighton on Wednesday, with his Nap, Pop Dancer running in the 6.00 and his next best, Devasboy, going in the 7.30 POP DANCER can prove a big hit for punters in the Handicap (6.00) over five and a half furlongs at Brighton tomorrow evening. A two-time course and distance winner, the eight-year-old came good 18 days ago after an 18-race losing streak, making all to comfortably land a five-runner Goodwood handicap by half a length over the minimum trip. ‌ Undulating courses suit Tony Carroll's gelding, and a third win on the Sussex Downs course looks on the cards as he takes a drop in class. ‌ Later on the same card, DEVASBOY has had an even longer gap in between victories, his last being at Chester nearly three years ago. But despite the wait, the six-year-old has the opportunity to score a second course and distance success in the Download The Star Sports App Handicap (7.30) over a mile. He ran well at Chepstow last week on fast ground over seven furlongs, running on strongly under Tom Marquand in the closing stages to finish third of 13, a length and a half behind Ravenglass. And the fact trainer Michael Appleby has booked the same jockey again to ride him is a bonus. Newsboy's horse racing tips for Tuesday's five meetings including Nottingham NAP

On a busy Tuesday, Newsboy likes the look of newly gelding Godolphin challenger for his NAP and fancies another making her hurdles debut at Southwell KING'S CHARTER (3.32, NAP) can start to live up to his hefty price tag by getting off the mark at Nottingham today. Efforts in two hot maiden races last year were well up to par for this grade but trainer Charlie Appleby decided the €650,000 buy would have brighter prospects as a gelding. It has worked for stable star Rebel's Romance, who took his earnings to £10.6 million at York last week, and hopefully will do the trick for King's Charter. ‌ Last year he finished third in a race won by unbeaten Group 2 winner Bay City Roller and then fourth in a Newbury maiden stacked with talent. ‌ The first, second, third and fifth from that race have all scored since and King's Charter can complete the sequence. Over jumps at Southwell TAKTIQUE GAGNANTE (4.20, NB) can get off the mark for her new connections on hurdles debut. The mare was backed into morning favouritism for a Cheltenham Bumper last month but could only finish 16th of 18. Even that form would put her in the mix on her second start for Richard Newland and Jamie Insole but she is better judged on a promising third in a Cork bumper in January. At Huntingdon Flat winner NOISY JAZZ (6.40) can make a winning debut over hurdles for the James Owen stable. SELECTIONS
