NIMBYs beware – another day festival is about to rear its head in the capital. That's right, the much-anticipated LIDO Festival kicks off tonight in east London's Victoria Park. And it looks set to be a trip-hop legends are your thing, you're gonna want to head down tonight to witness LIDO's inaugural headline performance from Massive Attack. Or perhaps you're holding out for Charli XCX's brat-pop mayhem or London Grammar's sunset synths, both taking to the stage next weekend? Either way, LIDO is coming in Time Out cover star Jamie xx will headline the second and final day of the 5,000-capacity weekender - and he's not doing things by halves. Expect a solo headline set, two back-to-back appearances (with Skrillex and Nia Archives), and support from Sampha, Arca, Romy and DJ Harvey. Planning to head down? He's scheduled for a full solo headline set on the Main Stage from 9.25pm to 10.55pm – but if you're keen, you'll catch him earlier too: he's going b2b with Skrillex at 2.10pm on the Main Stage and b2b with Nia Archives at 4.30pm on Stage 2. How to get to LIDO festival If you're travelling to LIDO by tube, you'll want to head toward Mile End (District, Central and Hammersmith & City lines) or Bethnal Green (Central line). Just a heads up: there's no night tube on the District or Hammersmith & City lines. Coming by bus? You've got plenty of options: the 8, 277, 309, 339, 388, D3 and D6 all run close to Victoria Park. Bristol's Love Saves the Day: Everything you need to know
One of the biggest music festivals in Bristol is fast approaching, so we've put together a helpful guide for ticket holders. Love Saves the Day will kick off the city's busy summer season at Ashton Court on 24 to 25 May, welcoming more than 30,000 festival-goers per day to the estate on the edge of the city. Across eight stages, the diverse line-up will host household names including Groove Armada, Shy FX and Wilkinson, alongside plenty of up-and-coming local director Tom Paine said the bank holiday event was "shaping up to be pretty spectacular". What's the line-up? Safer Spaces Now aims to confront and prevent sexual violence, harassment and domestic abuse at festivals and events.
