Cheryl's ex Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini makes strange move decade after split
Nearly a decade after they split, Cheryl's ex-husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini has bizarrely shared a photo of them on social media. The Girls Aloud singer, 41, was briefly married to the French restauranteur, 44, 11 years ago. After meeting at a party in 2014, they got hitched just three months later but split less than 18 months after that. At the time of filing for divorce, Cheryl cited 'unreasonable behaviour' for their break-up and claimed he'd cheated on her, which had caused 'stress and weight loss'. He has always denied the cheating claims. Now, nine years on, Jean-Bernard has posted a photo with his ex-wife on Instagram, where he has over 45,000 followers. Taken in 2015, the photo shows the former couple walking hand-in-hand through Nice Airport on their way to the Cannes Film Festival. Wearing a navy bomber jacket and dark jeans, Jean-Bernard held hands with Cheryl, who was smiling and wearing a yellow dress and black open-toe boots. However, it seems rather than reminiscing on his past relationship, he was wanting to find out where one of his clothing items had gone. Captioning the post, he wrote: 'Where is this jacket?' Cheryl and Jean-Bernard met at Cannes in 2014 and after a whirlwind romance, married on Mustique in the West Indies on July 7, after only knowing each other for around 12 weeks. Their wedding was reportedly attended by just four guests. Soon after Cheryl confirmed the news of her nuptials, posting on X: 'I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news… Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14. We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together.' But 18 months later she was famously granted a divorce in just 14 seconds. Around the same time Cheryl started dating late One Direction star Liam Payne, who she then welcomed son Bear with in March 2017. In 2017 Jean-Bernard spoke about being thrust into the spotlight and his subsequent split. More Trending 'There were really awful things said about me, about my family, but I feel like I survived it. And I'm here surviving, doing my thing,' he said. 'I married someone who was famous, I was thrust into this mad world – I didn't like it. Asked about his Cheryl welcoming a child with Payne, he added: 'If someone I used to be with goes on to have another boyfriend or have children, that's good for them, I wish them well – but I'm not going to think about it.' Second suspected sabotage in France as power cut hits Nice
A second power outage in two days his hit the French Riviera region after a fire at a substation in Nice overnight, which authorities said was caused by a malicious act. At least 45,000 homes were affected after the blaze broke out at around 02:00 local time (01:00 BST) on Sunday, a day after nearby Cannes suffered a massive blackout that was blamed on suspected sabotage. Police in Nice say "tire tracks" were found and the door to the substation, in the west of the city, was "broken", according to local media reports. Nice Airport, the tramway network, and neighbouring towns of Saint-Laurent-du-Var and Cagnes-sur-Mer, were impacted before power was restored later in the morning. Nice's mayor Christian Estrosi said on X that he "strongly denounced" the "malicious acts that affect our country". The city's deputy mayor, Gaël Nofri, said the substation fire was "probably of criminal origin". It came a day after Cannes suffered a major blackout during the international film festival. Officials said it may have been caused by an arson attack on a substation. Around 160,000 homes in the city and surrounding areas lost power. Several screenings were interrupted by the power cut in the morning, before festival organisers were able to switch to private generators. At the moment, no link has been established between the two incidents. Estrosi said authorities would reinforce the security network around the Nice's electric sites. An investigation into "organised arson" has been opened. Nice prosecutor Damien Martinelli was quoted by AFP news agency as saying investigations were underway, in particular "to clarify the damage and the manner in which the act was committed".
