Emma Watson Makes Rare Appearance for 2025 Cannes Film Festival

The Harry Potter actress made her return to the 2025 Cannes Film Festival after a 12-year absence, putting her chic festival style on display as she arrived at the Nice Airport May 20.
Emma wore a floral skirt, black sweater and dark sunglasses paired with black flats as she hopped off the plane. She later traded in the look for another spring ensemble while at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, donning a sleeveless red and white checker print dress and a pair of boots. Keeping the Parisian sun out of her eyes, Emma rocked a pair of aviator style sunglasses.
For her last appearance at the festival in 2013, Emma showcased her style in pieces by Louis Vuitton and Chanel as she promoted the Sofia Coppola film, The Bling Ring. Aside from occasional film appearance including in 2019's Little Women, Emma—who is dating —has maintained a life out of the spotlight as works to obtain her master's degree in literature from Oxford University.

Prior to her time in Cannes, Emma was spotted over the Valentine's Day weekend at the 2025 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in Oakland, Calif. In a clip shot by the ESPN TikTok account, the Circle actress was dressed casual in an all-black outfit as she blew a kiss to the camera.
Emma—who graduated from Brown University in 2014—made it clear that she's happy with her decision to fall back from the public eye and acting after years of being into the spotlight.
'I get a front row seat [with] some of the most successful, beautiful, incredible people in the world,' she explained to British Vogue in 2023. 'And when you have that seat it becomes very, very clear that there is just absolutely no level of success that will make you in any way happy or content if you do not like who you are or enjoy what you're doing when no one's watching.'

Instead, Robyn—who spiritually married Kody in 2010 before becoming his legal wife four years later—suggested that the trio turn their attention elsewhere. 'I wish really badly that they would all focus on their own relationships,' she continued, 'and work those relationships out without my name coming up.' In particular, Sukanya pointed to Janelle's declaration that Robyn was Kody's 'sacred cow,' prompting the 46-year-old to offer a simple response. 'Moo,' Robyn deadpanned. 'I don't know. Whatever. I don't care.' During part one of the tell-all special, Meri—who was married to Kody from 1990 to 2023—took issue with him wanting her as well as Janelle, 56, and Christine, 53, to change after he began his relationship with Robyn. French President Emmanuel Macron invited his wife to stand by his side Sunday to celebrate the Parisian soccer team winning the Champions League at the Elysee Palace, just a week after the first lady was caught slapping the president on video. Macron gently took his wife Brigitte's hand in front of dozens of cameras as the couple cheered on the victorious team, following a tense week of speculation about their relationship status amid their public quarrel. Saoirse Ronan is reportedly pregnant with her first child. In photos obtained by The Daily Mail on Sunday, the Irish actress is seen with a baby bump while walking with her husband Jack Lowden in Islington, London. Wearing a black bodysuit and leggings, Ronan had a grey sweatshirt tied around her waist. The 31-year-old first sparked pregnancy rumours when she stepped out in a silk maxi dress with lace inserts at the Louis Vuitton cruise 2026 photocall in Cannes, France last month. Representatives for the couple have not yet commented on the news. However, a source recently told The Irish Independent that the pair was "thrilled" to be expanding their family. The Little Women star and Scottish actor Jack started dating in 2018 and married in a private ceremony in Edinburgh in July 2024. And while speaking to British Vogue for the November 2024 issue, Ronan noted she had "always wanted" to be a mother. "I became successful when I was quite young. So it meant that, actually, by the time I found my partner, I'm now at the stage where if it happened, I would like to have a kid," she shared. "I feel fortunate enough that if I step out of this for a minute, I'm hopefully not giving it up forever. But, yeah, I've always wanted that."
