Backstreet Boys Star Nick Carter's New Solo Album Soars Into The Top 10
Nick Carter's Love Life Tragedy lands at No. 7 on iTunes, marking his return to solo music after a ... More decade and setting up a potential Billboard appearance. STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - JULY 06: Nick Carter performs on stage at the Vi som älskar 90 & 00-talet festival at Gärdet on July 06, 2024 in Stockholm, Sweden. (Photo by Iwi Onodera/Redferns) Nick Carter has been a global pop superstar for three decades now. He made his name as one of the members of the Backstreet Boys — a group he remains part of to this day and which ranks among the most successful vocal acts of all time. Over the years, Carter has also delivered a handful of projects on his own, which have been met with middling commercial success. But it's been quite a while since he last gave fans a solo collection. Carter is now back with his new full-length Love Life Tragedy, which has quickly become a fast seller in the United States. Love Life Tragedy currently sits at No. 7 on the iTunes top albums chart in the U.S. It's the seventh bestselling full-length on the platform at the moment, and its placement suggests it may have a shot at reaching at least one or two Billboard rankings after its first full tracking frame finishes. At the moment, Carter is competing with several other superstars who also have new albums out. He trails just-dropped releases from Morgan Wallen, BTS singer Jin, and Snoop Dogg. Impressively, he manages to outperform efforts from Sleep Theory, Linkin Park, and even Britney Spears, at least as of the time of writing. Fridays are typically jam-packed with new albums and song releases, as they mark the beginning of a new tracking week. Carter aimed to stand out from the crowd by dropping Love Life Tragedy early, on Thursday (May 15). The full-length quickly shot into the top 10 on iTunes in the U.S. and has remained there ever since. Love Life Tragedy is Carter's first solo album in a decade. He last delivered a solo project with All American in November 2015. His only successful solo effort in America to date remains Now or Never, released in 2002, when the Backstreet Boys were still one of the top-performing musical acts in the country. That set climbed to No. 17 on the Billboard 200. Carter returned to the tally more than a decade later alongside New Kids on the Block member Jordan Knight, as the two teamed up for a collaborative project titled Nick & Knight. That set nearly cracked the top 20 for a short time.

Backstreet Boys Score Their First New Billboard Bestseller In Half A Decade
Rascal Flatts and the Backstreet Boys' reimagined 'What Hurts the Most' debuts at No. 6 on the ... More Country Digital Song Sales chart and lands on the all-genre Digital Song Sales list. TAMPA, FLORIDA - DECEMBER 16: (L-R) Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Kevin Richardson, and Howie Dorough of Backstreet Boys perform onstage during iHeartRadio 93.3 FLZ's Jingle Ball 2022 Presented by Capital One at Amalie Arena on December 16, 2022 in Tampa, Florida. (Photo byfor iHeartRadio) The Backstreet Boys are back — on the charts, that is. The boy band returns to multiple Billboard rankings this frame, alongside one of the most successful groups in country music, Rascal Flatts. While the two acts may seem like unlikely duet partners, they've teamed up to rework a classic and scored a win on a pair of tallies, earning the Backstreet Boys their first new bestseller in years. "What Hurts the Most" sees Rascal Flatts putting a new spin on one of its most familiar singles. The country group is preparing to release a collaborative album comprised of huge hits that have been reimagined as duets. That includes this tune with the Backstreet Boys, which quickly became a bestseller. The updated "What Hurts the Most" sold just over 2,050 copies in its first full tracking frame, according to Luminate. That sum was large enough to earn the group another chart hit — and it gives the Backstreet Boys their first appearance on the Digital Song Sales list in years. This frame, it opens at No. 21 on that all-style roster. With "What Hurts the Most," the Backstreet Boys earn their milestone tenth appearance on Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart. It's been nearly half a decade since the Grammy-nominated group last launched a cut on the tally. The Backstreet Boys most recently debuted on the ranking in December 2020 when Britney Spears released "Matches" — a throwaway bonus track that nearly cracked the top 10, as it entered at No. 11 and held there for one frame. Among the group's Digital Song Sales chart entries are just two top 10s. The Backstreet Boys climbed highest with "Incomplete," which rose to No. 4 back in 2005. In 2018, the band returned to the region with "Chances," which spent one week at No. 9. Of course, many of the Backstreet Boys' biggest hits came long before the introduction of this chart. Some, such as "I Just Want You to Know" and "Inconsolable," peaked below No. 25, where the tally currently ends after being shortened several years ago. Rascal Flatts now claims a milestone 25 wins on the Digital Song Sales chart. Two of those tracks, including the original version of "What Hurts the Most," peaked at No. 3, which still stands as the loftiest position the country band has climbed. The updated "What Hurts the Most" is also a major win on the Country Digital Song Sales chart, which is a more focused tally than the all-genre list. The duet brings both Rascal Flatts and the Backstreet Boys into the top 10 on that roster, as the song kicks off its time at No. 6.

How to become driving instructor after Government pledges to clear backlog of learners waiting to take tests
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) APRIL is the most common month for learners to pass their driving test and it's peak season for career changers to sign up as driving instructors too. With the lighter evenings seeing more learners taking to the roads, new research from the AA Driving School shows one in 20 drivers has supervised a learner in the last 12 months, supporting trainees with more than five million hours of private practice. 2 AA Driving School franchisee Nick Carter first tested his instruction abilities supervising his son as a learner Credit: Supplied Taking to the passenger seat can also inspire a new career, with 23 per cent considering switching to become a driving instructor — however there is a serious shortage of instructors nationwide. The pandemic saw many older instructors retire and the average age for current instructors is 52. This week the Government pledged to clear the backlog of people waiting to take tests by providing at least 10,000 extra tests each month, but more instructors and test staff are urgently needed. Mark Born, who is head of instructor training at the AA Driving School, said: There is a lot of demand for driving lessons at the moment, making 2025 a great time to become a driving instructor. 'Passing your driving test is a real milestone and helping someone achieve that is a great feeling. It's no wonder so many people start to think about driving instruction as a career once they have experienced the satisfaction that comes from helping someone fulfil their driving dream.' AA Driving School franchisee Nick Carter first tested his instruction abilities supervising his son as a learner. When Covid hit, Nick decided the time was right to make a change and train as an instructor. Nick, 57, from Weymouth, Dorset, said: 'I taught my son to drive seven years ago and we're still talking. When the time came to change career it seemed an obvious choice. 'I'd been a teacher previously so a lot of those skills came back into play, such as being patient and having a rapport with pupils. 'My work-life balance is much better now and I have a lot more job satisfaction.' I'm a driving instructor and here is how to avoid failing your test To train as instructor, you must be aged at least 21 and have held a driving licence for more than three years, without holding any motoring convictions. You'll need to register with the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency. And get a DBS check to start your application. Training consists of both a theory and practical driving ability test followed by an instructional ability exam. Once qualified as an Approved Driving Instructor, annual salaries can range from £15,000 to £60,000 per year depending on the number of hours worked. 'Amazing satisfaction of seeing pupils pass' Many instructors work flexibly, fitting their work around other commitments. Seb Goldin, CEO of RED Driver Training, said: 'The role of a driving instructor can offer many benefits including steady and rewarding professional work, and the opportunity to maintain flexibility in working hours and locations. Then there's the amazing satisfaction of seeing your learners passing their test safely, successfully and achieving the freedom of the road.' Who is disgraced Backstreet Boy Nick Carter's wife, Lauren Kitt Carter? The ‘Everybody' singer met the former fitness YouTuber through his siblings, and they share 3 children together
Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter is facing a fourth sexual assault lawsuit, with the most recent woman claiming that he gave her STDs, according to Variety. Nick Carter has been accused of sexual assault by four women. Photo: NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images The complaint filed by Laura Penly alleges that Carter forced her into sexual acts in 2004, when she was 19 and he was 25. She claims that they had consensual sex three times before he became aggressive. Carter has denied the allegations. Advertisement His lawyers told Variety that the lawsuit is 'just more of the same nonsense from the gang of conspirators and their lawyers who continue to abuse the justice system to try to ruin Nick Carter'. 'It's drawn from the same predictable playbook – lie in wait for decades until Mr Carter is celebrating a professional milestone, then hide behind litigation privilege to make utterly false claims in an attempt to inflict maximum damage on Nick and his family.' They said that Carter doesn't recall ever meeting Penly. Nick Carter, Lauren Kitt Carter and their children celebrating Christmas in 2020. Nick Carter shares how he found out Aaron had died: 'I haven't had a chance to grieve'
Nick Carter is opening up about the death of younger brother Aaron Carter and sharing why he still hasn't 'had a chance to grieve.' After years of struggling with addiction and living life in the public eye, Aaron Carter, a former teen pop idol, was found dead in his bathtub in November 2022 at the age of 34, a source close to the family confirmed to NBC News at the time. Months later, NBC News obtained records from the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner in April 2023 that confirmed Aaron Carter's cause of death was accidental drowning after inhaling difluoroethane and taking alprazolam, the generic form of Xanax. Following his death, Nick Carter paid tribute to his youngest sibling on Instagram, writing that his heart was 'broken.' In the new Paramount+ documentary ' The Carters: Hurts To Love You,' out April 15, the Backstreet Boys member and his only remaining sibling, Angel Carter Conrad — Aaron Carter's twin — reflect on the singer's tragic death. The two-part documentary, which unpacks the trauma the Carter siblings endured since childhood, includes a scene of Nick Carter explaining how he learned that Aaron Carter had died. 'I'll never forget, you know, being in London at the time when it happened and getting the text message,' he recalled as he began to sob. 'It's still unbelievable to this day.' He added, 'I haven't even had a chance to grieve.' The documentary also addresses the death of Leslie Carter, who died in 2012 at the age of 25, and the death of Bobbie Jean 'B.J.' Carter, who died about a year after Aaron Carter in December 2023 at 41. There is an emotional moment where Nick Carter and Carter Conrad walk along a beach and discuss breaking the 'generational cycle' that their three siblings could not escape. 'I'm so thankful I have you, because there's only one person who understands what we went through,' Carter Conrad tells her older brother. He replies, 'We're the only ones left.' The two then sit down together and Nick Carter says, 'The generational cycle, I want it to stop. I want to break it so badly and I don't want it to affect my children. I don't want it to affect your children.' He continues, 'Our parents (Robert 'Bob' Carter and Jane Elizabeth Carter) don't define us. I know that. You know that. Unfortunately, B.J., Aaron and Leslie, they did not know that. They had no idea that they could get out. They didn't deserve it.' Nick Carter stresses that his three deceased siblings did not deserve to live devastating lives and suffer until they died. 'Sometimes I feel guilty about that. Sometimes I feel like it was my fault, you know, because I started it all,' he reveals, noting that his success with the Backstreet Boys took him away from the family. He mentions that Aaron Carter then became the center of the family and Carter Conrad was 'abandoned.' Nick Carter remembers seeing his siblings struggle while he was away with the band and unable to help. 'You guys weren't even 18 years old. You couldn't escape. You couldn't get out of there,' he tells Carter Conrad. 'There was so many times I tried to intervene. There was a lot of times.' Now when he looks at family photos, he says, he sees all the members who are no longer living, including dad Bob Carter, who died in May 2017. 'The oldest and the littlest, we're all that's left. I'm proud of you and I'm proud to be your brother. I am proud of my baby sister,' Nick Carter adds. Carter Conrad responds, 'I'm proud of you,' before the two express their love for each other and embrace. 'The Carters' director and executive producer Soleil Moon Frye spoke to about filming the heart-to-heart conversation between the siblings. 'Nick had never shared the process of losing his brother, and it was very clear to me in that moment that he was sharing with his sister, that that was really the first time that he was sharing about the loss of his brother,' Frye said. 'To see those walls break down and the emotions... I had been living in the archival where I had seen so much love between these brothers, and then to just watch those walls breaking down, it was devastating to witness.' The documentary ends with Nick Carter on stage dedicating a song to his family called 'Hurts to Love You' as Carter Conrad looks on from the crowd.
