Lionsgate has released the first official trailer for She Rides Shotgun , and it wastes no time throwing us into a world of blood, bullets, and broken trust. The movie stars Taron Egerton as an ex-con who's trying to outrun a death sentence while reconnecting with a daughter he barely knows. This movie's not about saving the world, it's about surviving it. 'In the gritty, explosive action-thriller She Rides Shotgun , Taron Egerton stars as newly released ex-con Nate. Marked for death by unrelenting enemies, Nate must protect his estranged 11-year-old daughter, Polly (Ana Sophia Heger) at all costs. 'Shy, precocious, and wary of her father, Polly is swept up in Nate's dangerous plight as they flee to evade the corrupt sheriff and brutal leader of a gang who will stop at nothing to protect his criminal interests. Adapted from Jordan Harper's Edgar Award-winning novel, She Rides Shotgun looks like the kind of grounded, emotionally-charged action film that audiences with enjoy. Directed by Calm with Horses filmmaker Nick Rowland, the film's supporting cast includes Rob Yang, Keith Jardine, Travis Hammer, Santiago Segura, and John Carroll Lynch. Egerton has spent a lot of time in clean-cut roles and this isn't that. This is dirty, raw, and personal. It's good to see him cut loose. She Rides Shotgun is written by Harper along with Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski and hits theaters August 1st, 2025.
