ITV One Night: Full cast list and when it will be on TV
One Night was originally released on Paramount+ in November 2023 but was removed from the platform in February 2024. Now all six episodes of the Australian programme will be available to watch again on ITV and ITVX. The series stars Whittaker, Nicole da Silva and Yael Stone, who play three women whose bond was all but destroyed by the traumatic events of one night 20 years ago. The synopsis for the series says: "Since then, Simone (Nicole da Silva) has harboured secret hopes of becoming a novelist but most of her haphazard attempts have been shoved into her bottom drawer. "Now, at the age of 40, she has finally written the one story she could never get out of her mind, and her debut manuscript has become an unexpected overnight success. "But it soon becomes apparent that the devastating story the book tells doesn't exclusively belong to her. "At the heart of Simone's novel is a tragedy which also happened to Tess (Jodie Whittaker) and Hat (Yael Stone), her two childhood best friends." The Radio Times adds that this threatens to derail their friendships while stirring up perpetrators who "want to make it all go away." Speaking with the publication on what drew her to the series, Whittaker said: "Emily Ballou's writing was absolute poetry. "The use of our younger versions within scenes, of flashbacks and memory; the celebration and complication of friendship; the exploration of trauma… I found that intoxicating." Jodie Whittaker as Tess Nicole da Silva as Simone Yael Stone as Hat Kat Stewart as Vicki George Mason as Joey Erroll Shand as Trevor Noni Hazlehurst as Mary Tina Bursill as Helen William Zappa as Don Damien Strouthos as Mark Jillian Nguyen as Eden Fiona Press as Laura Zac Burgess as Jason Les Hill as Detective Clemens Recommended reading: Everything to know on ITV's Karen Pirie series 2 starring Lauren Lyle Everything to know on ITV crime-drama Ridley series 2 starring Adrian Dunbar All to know on Channel 4 crime thriller In Flight starring Katherine Kelly The first episode of One Night will air on ITV1 at 9.30pm on Saturday, August 16. One Night starring Jodie Whittaker comes to ITV1 & ITVX this August
ITV1 & ITVX will broadcast One Night, the six-part mystery drama, exclusively for a UK audience in August. Starring Jodie Whittaker, Nicole da Silva (Wentworth, Rush) and Yael Stone (Orange Is the New Black), One Night is the story of three women whose bond was all but destroyed by the traumatic events of one night 20 years ago. Since then, Simone (Nicole da Silva) has harboured secret hopes of becoming a novelist but most of her haphazard attempts have been shoved into her bottom drawer. Now, at the age of 40, she has finally written the one story she could never get out of her mind, and her debut manuscript has become an unexpected overnight success. But it soon becomes apparent that the devastating story the book tells doesn't exclusively belong to her. At the heart of Simone's novel is a tragedy which also happened to Tess (Jodie Whittaker) and Hat (Yael Stone), her two childhood best friends. As it becomes harder to prise fact from fiction, one person's memory and story from another's, the book threatens to derail all their friendships, bringing old traumas to the surface of the small coastal community where they grew up, and stirring its perpetrators, who want to make it all go away. Created and written by the award-winning Emily Ballou (The Slap, Taboo) and directed by Catherine Millar (The Twelve, The Secrets She Keeps) and Lisa Matthews (Doctor Doctor, The PM's Daughter), the full series will be available on the streaming platform. The ensemble cast includes Kat Stewart (Five Bedrooms, Offspring), George Mason (The Power of the Dog), Erroll Shand (Underbelly: Land of the Long Green Cloud), Noni Hazlehurst (A Place To Call Home, Fires), Tina Bursill (Doctor Doctor), William Zappa (The Dry, Miss Fisher & the Crypt of Tears), Damien Strouthos (The Twelve) and Jillian Nguyen (Barons). -ENDS- About ITVX Launched in late 2022, ITVX is UK's freshest streaming service, letting viewers stream new programme exclusives, with adverts, for free; ranging from premium dramas, documentaries, US series, comedy and reality shows to blockbuster films and much, much more. Wentworth star Nicole da Silva calls out violence against women as 2025 death toll in Australia surges to 23
Nicole da Silva is urging Australians to put violence against Australian women first in their minds as they enter the polling booths for the federal election. The Wentworth star, 43, is best known for portraying affable prison boss Franky Doyle in the award-winning TV drama between 2013 and 2018. In her first interview in several years, the actress called attention to the 23 Australian women who have died at the hands of violence this year. The deaths occurred between January 13 and April 21. 'The rate of femicide in this country is completely unacceptable,' she told Confidential ahead of her return to the stage in The Lover at Enmore Theatre. According to the Australian Femicide Watch, 103 Australian women and 16 children were killed in 2024, with 26 of those deaths occurring by April last year. 'It really is going to be a case of the government that comes in actively and genuinely trying to change that tide, and trying to change those numbers,' Nicole said. According to the Australian Femicide Watch , 103 Australian women and 16 children were killed in 2024, with 26 of those deaths occurring by April last year. In the first four months of 2025, 26 women have been killed. Each heart on the Memorial map represents one death 'The way we accept domestic violence in this country and the way it's perpetrated through the legal system, through the frontline workers, is unacceptable,' 'I really hope that our politicians start to heed some of that.' Her words come as Adrian Noel Torrens, 53, died in custody three days after his arrest for allegedly murdering 19-year-old Audrey Griffin. The government department tasked with keeping the accused killer of a 19-year-old woman alive so he can face trial for her alleged murder has sent condolences to people 'affected by his death'. The Central Coast man was found unresponsive in his cell at Silverwater Jail in Sydney's west about 4.50pm on Thursday and couldn't be revived by paramedics and corrective services officers. 'Violence against women and domestic violence affects everyone,' Nicole continued. 'It limits and narrows the options for men and boys in this society. It's a bigger conversation than just women.' This week, both Labor and the Coalition announced their policies to reduce the rates of gender-based violence ahead of the federal election on May 3. Both major parties have committed to continuing an existing 10-year plan to address the 'national crisis', which was updated last year to dedicate $900million to frontline services. Nicole, who has also starred in Rush, Doctor, Doctor and One Night, said the responsibility to address this crisis falls on every Australian. 'I think what's been lacking in the dialogue so far is men speaking up and holding other men accountable and actively wanting to change a kind of inherently misogynistic system,' she concluded.
