Meghan Markle Shares Rare Footage of Prince Harry with Their 2 Kids to Celebrate Father's Day: ‘Our Favorite Guy'

Meghan Markle celebrated Prince Harry on Father's Day 2025 by sharing an Instagram video tribute featuring rare family footage of him with their two kids The Duke and Duchess of Sussex share son Prince Archie, 6, and daughter Princess Lilibet, 4 Father's Day falls a few weeks after Prince Harry said his father King Charles "won't speak to me because of this security stuff" after he lost a key legal appeal to restore his U.K. protectionMeghan Markle is showing love for Prince Harry on Father's Day. On June 15, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, shared an Instagram video tribute featuring rare family footage of her husband, 40, with their two kids. Harry and Meghan, who marked their seventh wedding anniversary in May, share son Prince Archie, 6, and daughter Princess Lilibet, 4. 'The best,' Meghan captioned her post. 'Happy Father's Day to our favorite guy 💕.' The post was set to 'Have It All' By Jason Mraz. In much of the footage, Harry is seen laughing and playing with Archie and Lilibet, following after Archie as he rides a bike and holding his children in their younger years. The Duchess of Sussex rejoined social media at the start of the year and uses her personal Instagram handle @meghan to share updates about her professional ventures, her family's private world and her children's milestones. Prince Harry and Meghan are raising Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet outside of the spotlight in Montecito, Calif., after stepping back from their royal roles in the U.K. in 2020. Both kids are growing up with Harry's red hair. The Duke of Sussex has said he believes Archie and Lili's red tresses come from his later mother Princess Diana's side of the family, explaining that the Spencer genes are "very, very strong." Harry shared the insight while appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in 2023, where he said, "Definitely my mum," after being asked if he sees any family members in his kids. "The Spencer gene is very, very strong," Harry said on the show. "I actually really, genuinely thought at the beginning of my relationship [with Meghan] that should this go the distance and we have kids, that there's no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife's genes, but I was wrong! Go gingers." Harry and Meghan recently took their kids to Disneyland to celebrate Lili's fourth birthday on June 4, a trip reminiscent of Princess Diana bringing Prince William and Prince Harry to Disney World in Florida in 1993. The Duchess of Sussex's weekend plans changed after the Los Angeles museum gala she was set to attend on June 14 was postponed amid protests in the city against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids. Meghan was set to be honored at the Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County's Night of Wonder gala and recognized for her work championing women and underserved communities, and she was expected to deliver remarks. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are celebrating Father's Day as Prince Harry navigates his relationship with his own father, King Charles. The rift first became public when Harry and Meghan stepped back from their royal roles in the U.K. in 2020, and the stakes were raised after Harry lost a pivotal legal appeal to restore his state-funded security in the U.K. on May 2. Can't get enough of PEOPLE's Royals coverage? to get the latest updates on Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and more! Prince Harry has long maintained that as head of state, his father could help reinstate the essential protection he seeks. He told the BBC in an explosive interview that King Charles "won't speak to me because of this security stuff" but that he still wishes to reconcile. "I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point in continuing to fight anymore," the Duke of Sussex said then. "Life is precious. I don't know how much longer my father has," he continued, alluding to King Charles' cancer diagnosis announced in 2024 and continued treatment. "He won't speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile." The palace has consistently denied the idea that the King has the power to restore the elite security Harry seeks. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex brought their children back to the U.K. just once following their U.S. move for Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022. In a May 2 BBC interview, Harry also said that he "can't see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point" without the key security. Meghan to speak as guest of honour at LA museum's Night of Wonder

The Duchess of Sussex will speak as the guest of honour at a museum's Night of Wonder in the US, as part of her work championing community wellbeing. Meghan will be joined by other high-profile guests at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles, as the space is transformed into an enchanted nocturnal garden on June 14. The event will feature live music and installations representing local ecosystems and the LA landscape, and guests will be treated to a farm-to-table dinner that uses ingredients from the museum's nature gardens. The duchess's mission to advance community wellbeing and uplift young women 'dovetails with the museums' approach to connecting community and science by fostering meaningful educational experiences that empower young minds', the Office of Prince Harry and Meghan said. Among the programmes shared on the website of their charity, the Archewell Foundation, is The Welcome Project, where Meghan focuses on addressing 'the social isolation recently resettled women experience around the world and building more inclusive and connected communities'. The Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County (NHMLAC) hold one of the biggest and most valuable collections of natural and cultural history in the world, with more than 35 million objects. Their collections are used for ground-breaking scientific and historical research and in a range of community science programmes, including creating indoor-outdoor visitor experiences. NHMLAC's president and director Lori Bettison-Varga said: 'We are proud to honour Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, a native Angeleno, whose work to advance community wellbeing and expand opportunity, especially for underserved communities, aligns with our equity-focused approach to developing science literacy for the next generation, including through our Stem and Steam Pathways programmes.' Meghan and Harry, who celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary last month, live in the US with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, after stepping away from the working monarchy.

Why Meghan Markle's Upcoming Gala Appearance Is Now Postponed

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Meghan Markle was set to be honored this weekend at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County's Night of Wonder gala, but the event has been postponed amid the ongoing protests in the city. 'As an institution 'of, for, and with Los Angeles,' our responsibility during challenging times is clear: to serve as a community resource focused on healing and unity, not celebration,' Dr. Lori Bettison-Varga, President and Director of the museum, said in a statement. 'Los Angeles needs us to channel our energy toward supporting our neighbors and demonstrating the values that make our city and county strong.' Protests in Los Angeles began in Friday against immigration raids in the California city. President Donald Trump has deployed National Guard troops and Marines into L.A., over the objections of Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass. 'This isn't just about protests here in Los Angeles,' the governor said last night in an address. 'When Donald Trump sought blanket authority to commander the National Guard, he made that order apply to every state in this nation. This is about all of us. This is about you. California may be first, but it clearly will not end here. Other states are next. Democracy is next. Democracy is under assault before our eyes. This moment we have feared has arrived.' The 'Night of Wonder' gala planned to celebrate Meghan for her work championing 'underserved communities,' they previously announced. 'We are proud to honor Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, a native Angeleno, whose work to advance community wellbeing and expand opportunity — especially for underserved communities — aligns with our equity-focused approach to developing science literacy for the next generation, including through our STEM and STEAM Pathways programs,' Dr. Bettison-Varga perviously said. No postponed date for the gala has been announced as of yet. The Sussexes have yet to comment publicly on either the postponed gala or the protest. Los Angeles protests: Meghan Markle's appearance at Natural History Museum gala postponed

Meghan Markle was all set to appear on June 14 at the Night of Wonder gala organized by the Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County (NHMLAC). The event has now been postponed due to the ongoing violence in Los Angeles in the aftermath of raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials. The event will now be held at a later date, as per People magazine. The decision to reschedule the event was taken by the Natural History Museum's leadership, Board of Trustees and event partners. They agreed that postponing the event was 'the appropriate response to current community circumstances,' the Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County said in a release. 'As an institution 'of, for, and with Los Angeles,' our responsibility during challenging times is clear: to serve as a community resource focused on healing and unity, not celebration,' Dr. Lori Bettison-Varga, President and Director of NHMLAC, told People. The event was planned to celebrate the Duchess of Sussex's work championing 'underserved communities.' In 2020, the Suits alum moved to Montecito, California, with Prince Harry and their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, after the couple stepped back from royal duties. Since then, Meghan has been part of several events across Los Angeles, including the Paley Honors last year. Bettison-Varga said in a statement. The event's postponement echoes another rescheduling related to the Duchess of Sussex's ventures. Earlier this year, Meghan postponed the premiere of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan due to the wildfires ravaging LA and other parts of California. She is the host of a show called With Love, Meghan. The show has been renewed for a second season. The Suits star stepped back from acting to marry Prince Harry in 2017. She shares two kids with her husband Prince Harry, Archie and Lilibet.

Meghan Markle forced to scrap next glitzy appearance due to escalating situation

Just days before Meghan Markle was due to be the guest of honour at a charity event at an LA museum, the event has been cancelled due to ongoing unrest in the city Meghan Markle will no longer appear at a glitzy event in Los Angeles on Saturday as the charity bash has been cancelled due to ongoing unrest in the city. Meghan was scheduled to be the guest of honour at the Museum of Natural History in Los Angeles, where she was expected to give a speech about her extensive charity work. However, as the streets of LA continue to be occupied by protestors facing off against ICE officers, organisers postponed the black-tie Night of Wonder event. Dr. Lori Bettison-Varga, President and Director of the Natural History Museum in LA, said in a statement : "As an institution 'of, for, and with Los Angeles,' our responsibility during challenging times is clear: to serve as a community resource focused on healing and unity, not celebration." ‌ ‌ "Los Angeles needs us to channel our energy toward supporting our neighbours and demonstrating the values that make our city and county strong," her statement continued. The statement went on to clarify that the decision to indefinitely postpone the event was made by the museum's Board of Trustees, leadership and event partners, who "unanimously agreed" that pausing the event was "the appropriate response to current community circumstances." Chief Advancement Officer Paul Bessire added: 'We will find a future moment to celebrate our work. Until then, we will channel our energy towards being welcoming spaces for learning and discovery for everyone who walks through our doors.' The museum is expected to reschedule the event for a later date, and will continue with their daily operations and educational programs until the event is back in the calendar. The gala had planned to honour Meghan and her charity work, focusing on her championing of women and underprivileged communities, with other guests from cultural and philanthropic communities across Los Angeles also expected to attend. ‌ Dr Bettison-Varga had been excited to welcome Meghan to the event, saying in a statement earlier this week: "We are proud to honour Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, a native Angeleno, whose work to advance community wellbeing and expand opportunity – especially for underserved communities – aligns with our equity-focused approach to developing science literacy for the next generation." The Office of Prince Harry and Meghan added that Meghan's mission to advance community wellbeing and uplift young women 'dovetails with the museums' approach to connecting community and science by fostering meaningful educational experiences that empower young minds.' The event was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, with the gala happening at the same time at royal family will attend Trooping the Colour in London to celebrate the King's birthday. ‌ Parts of Los Angeles have been placed into lockdown, as locals continue to rise up against ICE officers who have been placed on the streets as part of President Trump's large-scale immigration policy. A local emergency has been declared in the Californian city with the National Guard descending on the city, after rioters set fire to cars, looted buildings and attacked officers. The protests began when ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) officers raided the city to detain those who they believed were illegal immigrants. Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass warned: "If you do not live or work in Downtown LA avoid the area. Law enforcement will arrest individuals who break the curfew, and you will be prosecuted.'
