DD Next Level On OTT: When And Where To Watch The Horror Comedy

Devil's Double Next Level, popularly known as DD Next Level, made its theatrical debut today, May 16, and has already started receiving positive audience reviews. This horror-comedy is the fourth installment in the beloved Dhilluku Dhuddu franchise and serves as a direct sequel to the hit DD Returns. Once again, Santhanam leads the film, delivering the trademark blend of humour, scares and satire that fans have come to love. For those waiting for its digital release, DD Next Level will be available on ZEE5 after its theatrical run. Previous films in the franchise are also streaming on the platform, making it easy for viewers to catch up on earlier chapters. The film's narrative follows Krishna, also known online as Kissa 47, a famous and witty YouTube film reviewer portrayed by Santhanam. Krishna is invited along with his family to an exclusive screening of a mysterious film. However, he quickly senses that something is off about the location and tries to leave. To his shock, he realises his family has already entered the theatre and taken their seats. The story takes a fantastical and chilling twist when Krishna is literally pulled into the film being screened. Once inside, he discovers that his own family members are no longer just viewers but have become part of the film's plot—playing characters in a bizarre ghost story. As Krishna tries to make sense of this surreal situation, he realises they are all trapped in a horror film haunted by the vengeful spirit of a failed filmmaker named Hitchcock Irudhayaraj, a role essayed by Selvaraghavan. With the clock ticking, Krishna must rely on his sharp mind, instincts, and trademark humour to unravel the mystery and free his family from the cursed cinematic world before the movie reaches its final reel. DD Next Level is backed by a strong ensemble cast that includes Geethika, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Redin Kingsley, Motta Rajendran, Yashika Anand, and Maran, in addition to Santhanam and Selvaraghavan. The film is helmed by S. Prem Anand, a frequent collaborator in the Dhilluku Dhuddu universe, and is presented by actor-producer Arya. It is produced under the banner of Niharika Entertainment, with Dipak Kumar Padhy handling the cinematography. TTD board member sends legal notice to Santhanam, Arya for devotional song in DD Next Level; seeks ₹100 cr and apology
Actor Santhanam's upcoming horror-comedy film DD Next Level will be released in theatres on May 16. Two days ahead of its release, TTD board member and BJP spokesperson, Bhanuprakash Reddy, has sent the actor and producers, Niharika Entertainment, a legal notice for using the devotional song Srinivasa Govinda in the rap song Kissa 47 from the film. (Also Read: Kenishaa Francis' friend defends her relationship with Ravi Mohan in emotional post: 'How vulgar people can be') Condemning the usage of Srinivasa Govinda in Kissa 47, Bhanuprakash told News18 Telugu that a legal notice has been sent to the producers and Santhanam. Condemning the usage of the song, he questioned, 'Would they add songs from Christianity or Islam to a rap song? Why are only Hindu sentiments always hurt? We sent them a legal notice and have demanded an apology. If Srinivasa Govinda isn't removed from the song both online and in the film, we will file a defamation suit and ask for ₹100 crore compensation.' During the interview, the member also mentioned that in the future, no filmmaker should use devotional songs in films so casually and just get away with an apology when it's pointed out that it hurts sentiments. 'The censor board has also been sent a copy of the notice. They also need to be careful while giving certification to films. How did this go unnoticed by them?' he asked. For the unversed, Srinivasa Govinda is a popular devotional song about Lord Venkateswara, and it was used in a portion of the rap, which the TTD member took offence to. DD Next Level, aka Devil's Double Next Level, is the fourth film in the Dhilluku Dhuddu franchise. ‘Devil's Double Next Level' trailer: Santhanam is a film critic stuck inside a quirky horror film
The trailer of Santhanam's upcoming horror-comedy Devil's Double Next Level was unveiled by the makers on Wednesday (April 30). The film, directed by S Prem Anand, is a sequel to 2023's DD Returns and the fourth film in the Dhillukku Dhuddu film series. In the trailer, Santhanam's character, a popular film critic, is invited by a mysterious entity (played by Selvaraghavan) to a special show of a new horror movie. However, while entering the film, he is pulled into the world of the film, in which he experiences day-to-night transitions, non-linear narration, the staple horror movie tropes, and a Gautham Vasudev Menon who romances Yashika Anand while dancing to 'Uyirin Uyire' from Khakha Khakha! To escape from this nightmare, Santhanam has to either quit reviewing films or find a way to defeat the spectre that has imprisoned him. The cast of Devil's Double Next Level also features Geethika, Nizhalgal Ravi, Kasthuri, Redin Kingsley, Motta Rajendran, Maran.
