BRNO — Joseph Salandra, Nikita Klepov and Blake Zielinksi scored in the shootout as the United States beat Canada 4-3 on Friday in the semifinals of the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. The U.S. will play Sweden in Saturday's gold-medal game, while Canada faces Finland for third place. Zielinksi also had a power-play goal in regulation time for the Americans, while Noah Davidson and Luke Puchner also scored. Brady Knowling made 34 saves through regulation and overtime, turning aside three of four skaters in the shootout for the win. Musketeers defeat Dubuque 4-2, secure home ice in first round of Clark Cup Playoffs

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – The Sioux City Musketeers defeated the Dubuque Fighting Saints 4-2, extending its win streak to six games while locking up home ice advantage in the first round of the USHL Clark Cup Playoffs. Nikita Klepov and Gavin Garry scored in the first period to give the Musketeers a 2-0 lead, but the Fighting Saints scored twice in the second to even the game up headed into the third period. Landon Nycz found the back of the net halfway through the third period and Tate Pritchard put the game on ice following an empty net goal with 19 seconds left.
