Kuwait's Modern Pentathlon team. -- KUNA photo ALEXANDRIA: Kuwaiti modern pentathlon team came in second place, winning the silver medal at the Arab Modern Pentathlon Championship (under 15 years old), which concluded in Alexandria on Sunday with the participation of 56 players from six Arab countries. Kuwait's team of Mohammed Al-Suhaibi, Nimer Abathraa, and Bader Al-Suhaibi, won the silver medal in the team category and also won silver in the relay category with the participation of Mohammed and Bader Al-Suhaibi. The final results of the team competitions saw Egypt in first place, Kuwait in second, the United Arab Emirates in third, Libya in fourth, Syria in fifth, and Sudan in sixth, while Egypt took the top three places in the individual category. President of the Kuwaiti Modern Pentathlon Federation and first vice president of the Arab Federation, Nasser Al-Waleed, said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the competition in this tournament was strong and friendly, reflecting the impressive athletic level of the Kuwaiti team. He emphasized that this achievement was the result of the great support provided by the Kuwait Olympic Committee, expressing his gratitude for its sponsorship and continued support for the stars of the national team. Six Arab countries participated in the Arab championship, which kicked off yesterday: Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Sudan, Libya, Syria, and the host country, Egypt. The competition, which is the first in the history of the Arab Modern Pentathlon Federation for individual, team, and relay categories, coincided with the World Modern Pentathlon Championship, which concluded on Saturday, with the participation of 49 players from nine countries. Kuwait was represented in these two championships by five athletes: Mohammed Al-Suhibi, Nimer Abathraa, Bader Al-Suhibi, Abdullah Al-Habashi, and Sharaf Al-Ajmi, led by coaches Arafat Al-Ward and Mashari Fahad. — KUNA
