Dark Intentions. Unmasking the Appeal'. The programme was held under the guidance of divisional railway manager Vinayak Garg and chief medical superintendent Dr Nirmala Gupta.
The event aimed to educate railway employees and their families about the deceptive marketing tactics of the tobacco industry and the severe health hazards of tobacco consumption. The theme of this year's campaign draws attention to how tobacco companies use attractive packaging and sweetened flavours to lure young individuals into addiction.
An engaging audiovisual presentation was delivered by Dr Arundhati Deshmukh, ACMS (dental)/Nagpur, highlighting the harmful effects of smoking, chewing tobacco, gutkha, and pan masala. She emphasised how not only direct users but also people around them suffer from exposure to tobacco smoke. The session concluded with a strong appeal to quit tobacco for the sake of personal health and the well-being of others.
