Motorbike rider killed and a second injured in separate Perth crashes
A motorbike rider has died and another is in a serious condition in hospital after separate major crashes. The fatal smash happened on the winding Canning Dam Rd in Ashendon, southeast of Perth, about 3.10pm on Thursday. A black Kawasaki was travelling southwest when it collided with a Nissan 370Z coupe heading in the opposite direction. St John paramedics attended but the 45-year-old male rider could not be saved and died at the scene. The Nissan driver, a 36-year-old man, was taken to Armadale Hospital as a precaution. Later on Thursday, a 20-year-old rider was seriously injured in a separate crash involving a bike and car in Perth. The young rider's bike collided with a ute on Welshpool Rd near Gladys Rd in Lesmurdie about 8.40pm. They are currently in Royal Perth Hospital in a stable condition. The 49-year-old driver of the white ute was unhurt.

At least 2 charged after street takeover, racing incidents in Nashville area
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — At least two men were arrested overnight as part of the Metro Nashville Police Department's Street Racer Initiative, officials reported. According to Metro Police, the first arrest occurred after around 50 vehicles gathered at Blue Hole Road and Bell Road in Antioch. Reports said a 27-year-old man from San Benito, Texas was seen lighting fireworks in the middle of the roadway. When officers attempted to take him into custody, he reportedly fled, prompting a brief pursuit. Nashville police have arrested more than 200 people since starting the 'Street Racer Initiative' Once he was caught, officers searched him and reportedly found marijuana and fireworks in his pockets. He was charged with misdemeanor substance possession or casual exchange, misdemeanor obstruction of a passageway or sidewalk, misdemeanor disorderly conduct, misdemeanor inciting a riot and misdemeanor resisting arrest. He is being held on an $11,000 bond. Early Sunday morning, officers responded to Lebanon Pike near Shute Lane after receiving reports of vehicles doing donuts in a parking lot. Officers attempted to perform a traffic stop on a Nissan 370Z, and it fled at a high speed.
