Motorcycle driver sustains life-threatening injuries during collision in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, (WBOY) — The Monongalia County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a two-vehicle accident sent one to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. According to a release from the sheriff's office, deputies responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Mileground Road and Hartman Run Road in Morgantown on Wednesday, May 29. The accident involved a Nissan Xterra and a Yamaha Cruiser motorcycle. The release said that preliminary investigations indicated that the Nissan attempted to make a left turn onto Hartman Run Road as the motorcycle was traveling on Mileground Road. The two collided, and the driver of the motorcycle was ejected and landed off of the road, the release said. 3 hospitalized in Preston County wreck on US 50 Mon EMS responded to the scene and transported the male motorcycle driver to Ruby Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Brookhaven and Star City Volunteer Fire Departments also responded. The release said that because the crash was so severe, the Monongalia County Sheriff's Office Reconstruction Team was also called to the scene to assist with the investigation, and that more information will be released when it becomes available. MORGANTOWN — A motorcycle rider involved in Thursday's accident on the Mileground has life-threatening injuries, according to the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department. At 2:10 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to the accident at the intersection of Mileground and Hartman Run roads. A press release states a Nissan Xterra was heading onto Hartman Run Road while a Yamaha motorcycle was traveling toward Easton Hill. The two vehicles collided head-on, throwing the rider off the motorcycle. The rider was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital by Monongalia County EMS with life-threatening injuries, the release states. The identity of the rider has not been released. Due to the severity of the accident, the sheriff's department crash reconstruction team was called to the scene to assist in the ongoing investigation.

One killed in T-bone crash with semi-truck on SR-40 near Heber City

HEBER CITY, Utah () — One person was killed after being T-boned by a semi-truck on SR-40 just north of Heber City in Wasatch County on Tuesday. Utah Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 8:15 a.m. on SR-40 near milepost 15. A Nissa Xterra was attempting to make a left-hand turn to go eastbound on SR-40 as the semi-truck was heading west in the same location. UHP said the Xterra pulled out in front of the semi truck and was T-boned on the driver's side. The driver and lone occupant of the Nissan Xterra reportedly suffered fatal injuries and died on the scene. Their identity has not been publicly released. As of noon, the Utah Department of Transportation said SR-40 is still reduced to one lane in each direction. Drivers are advised to expect delays and encouraged to use an alternate route if possible. 18-year-old charged following rash of six car break-ins

On Sunday night, April 20 to the early morning of Monday, April 21, Broadway faced a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts, including the larceny of a motor vehicle. Zyshonne Maurice McKeithen, who turned 18 on Feb. 5, was arrested Friday, April 25 and faces 13 felonies and eight misdemeanors stemming from the break-ins, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office. His address is listed in the 2600 block of Applegate Way in Sanford. According to several arrest warrants, McKeithen allegedly broke into the following vehicles with a 17-year-old male accomplice with the initials of BB: 2008 Nissan Xterra, 2015 GMC Sierra, 2015 Chevy Traverse, 2013 Ford Focus, 2016 Ford Fusion and a 2020 Honda Accord. McKeithen allegedly stole various items including credit and debit cards, a driver license, Bluetooth speaker, rigid tool bag, skilsaw, impact driver, sawzall drill, air compressor, four-foot ladder, clothing and cash from William Meyer's Nissan Xterra. Total value of the stolen items was $904. McKeithen also allegedly stole the Xterra. McKeithen also allegedly stole a Ruger 10-22 rifle, Remington 870 shotgun, AGM black thermal monocular, two credit cards and a brown wallet from Jordan Cox's GMC Sierra. Total value of the stolen items was $4,400. McKeithen allegedly stole a gym bag with lift straps and a belt from Genaro Nava's Chevy Traverse valued at $120. McKeithen also allegedly obstructed Detective J.D. Thomas when he attempted to seize McKeithen's cell phone. He is being held in the Lee County Jail on an $86,000 secured bond. Juvenile petitions were pending for the juvenile offender, a press release states.

Greensboro man killed in crash on I-85, police say

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A man is dead after a crash on Wednesday on Interstate-85 North, according to a Greensboro Police Department news release. Around 9:27 p.m., Greensboro officers, Greensboro firefighters and Guilford County EMS responded to I-85N near Randleman Road when they were told about a crash involving two vehicles. Victor Manuel Francisco Gallegos, 26, of Greensboro, was driving a Nissan Xterra north on I-85 in the second lane from the left and stopped in the travel lane for an unknown reason. An Audi Q3 was going north on I-85 North in the same lane as the Nissan. The Audi crashed into the back of the Nissan. Gallegos died as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash.
