Hostel warden removed after students' protest
Barwani: Hostel warden of Eklavya Model Residential School in Barwani was removed after students protested in front of collectorate gate following a foot march.
Hundreds of the students supported by the NSUI district body staged a protest on Thursday accusing hostel warden Nitisha Verma of discrimination based on caste and religion, beating and misbehaviour with parents.
They demanded her removal while protesting for almost three hours.
Collector Kajal Jawala told media persons on Friday that following the students' complaint, hostel warden Verma was removed and her responsibilities for the senior and junior houses of the hostel were assigned to two senior teachers. A letter was being written to govt for further action.
Verma termed the allegations against her baseless and stated that mobile phones were seized from the students many times. She claimed that parents of the students praise her and there were other reasons behind the protest.
